Just finished Rebel Rising. It's a solid novel and gives me more insight into Jyn's character that I felt was lacking in Rogue One. The second half of the book really helped me understand how she became so jaded by the conflict between the rebels and the empire.

I got a better feel for her and Saw's relationship, that again wish there was more of in the movie. I still feel like Saw has been mishandled in the newer canon. I've seen him used now in Rogue One, Rebels, Catalyst, and now Rebel Rising, but I still haven't found him to be as interesting as a character as he was in the Onderon arc of Clone Wars (I did mostly enjoy him in Catalyst). In this, Rogue One, and Rebels he just seems a little too unhinged in a way that hasn't felt earned. His character feels like a missed opportunity. Maybe Disney recognizes this too because it seems like his character keeps popping up in novels and video games.

Im going to keep this off the Mandalorian Thread since its totally just conjecture but on Collider Live today they had Katee Sackhoff and of course Kristian asked her about Bo Katan and the Mandalorian and said she couldnt say anything. He asked if shes MET Jon Favreua and she said yes. Also when they came back from their commercial break she was about to tell Kristian something as she was leaving and pointing to Kristians Star Wars cup and Kristian quickly cut her off telling her they were live and she stopped, laughed and just left.

Means absolutely nothing but just the way they were talking about it and smiling about it and considering her ties to Filoni Id definitely bet on her being in it and Id be fucking thrilled.

Just did a Battlestar rewatch (which is the greatest show ever made in my humble opinion) and Katee is so so good in a stacked cast. I'd kill to see her in SW live action

I think he works best when he has a foil who’s on the same side as him but won’t go as far he will. Steela, Lux, and Ahsoka stop his more brutal tendencies because they’re not willing to win at all costs like he is. I like how the loss of Steela is also the loss of his anchor and moral compass which is causes his spiral. He’s a really complex character in that he’s a Rebel and fighting for the good side, but his tactics would put him as someone who by most standards would be a villain. I think the problem is they haven’t gone much past that initial idea to fully show his progression/motivation and what the cost is to him as both him and the Rebels have success cause they’re good. I’d love to see him show up and make a situation worse because of his brutal tactics and have to deal with that.

I think it could have been interesting if in RO, he survived the attack on Jedha and then had to deal with the fact that it was chosen as a target in part because of his tactics and reputation. They could have combined that the other rebels thinking it could have been prevented if he had relayed the message Galen sent instead of being paranoid, torturing the pilot, and keeping the message to himself. He's definitely an overall interesting character.

Wow Harrison was Han from the first screen-test. So good. Mark definitely had to work into the role. This is a way more quiet and passive Luke.

  9. Ordered Thrawn Treason on Amazon so I'll start that tomorrow.

Loved the first Thrawn, wasn't thrilled with the second, so I hope this third one is excellent.

That screen test is cool. That does feel like a much different version of Luke. He seems more like a reluctant hero that the optimistic hopeful kid we see in A New Hope. I love Harrison's "I'm beginning not to like you" line.

So the reissuing has already begun. We’ll see what kind of box set(s) they release next year. Not 4K but apparently include digital codes for all the films for the first time

I do dig the cover art though

Finished Myths and Fables today. It’s a super quick read and pretty fun. I think this is what Legends of Luke Skywalker wanted to be because everyone of the stories has the feeling of being mostly true but regarded as a myth because of unknown or exaggerated details and the storytellers perspective. Really recommend it for fans of classic fairy tale/myth story telling. This would be perfect for an 8-10 year old who’s a big Star Wars fan.

For all those like me that are in Star Wars withdrawal here’s a friendly reminder exactly 3 months until both the Mandalorian and Clone Wars will be consumed through our eyeballs.

That on top of books/comics/the trilogy and saga ending finale in Episode 9.

    So much coming

I think Clone Wars is going to be released in 2020. Still, I’m very excited for the Star Wars content to come.

Only a couple more months until my self imposed movie embargo is over too! I used to watch one like every other week and it’ll be almost a year and a half since the watched one.

I thought I heard TCW was released with the launch of Disney Plus. Maybe not tho. Perhaps D23 will hash out the deetz. Should be finally getting more concrete announcements about future movies too

I though they said it was going to be there for the 1st year of launch, but not right away. I could be wrong though.

I've read speculation for both of those options (at launch vs later), but haven't seen anything official announced regarding TCW release date.

As someone who didn’t enjoy the first season much this really got me excited. Star Wars has to be the best franchise at making trailers

I'm wondering the same thing. I thought we'd at least get three seasons. I wonder how neatly it'll tie into episode IX.

There were a few episodes I enjoyed, but for the most part I just wasn’t engaged at all. I was skimming episodes at one point because i was so bored. Skews a little too young for me (especially the humor). Didn’t really care for any characters. Not a fan of the animation. Just not for me.

I liked Tam going with the FO though. I’m hoping now that we’re less focused on the Colossus (which the trailer points toand the gang is more in the thick of the Resistance and the war I’ll enjoy it more.

I didn’t think they were gonna go past a third season and it actually makes a lot of sense to tie it up after two.

I’m excited for another season. The show really picked up during the second half of S1.
