Crowd doesn’t seem that in to Seth winning

  4. Best PPV of the year - build was terrible but they delivered

Honestly really enjoyed the show. Nothing mind blowing, but the main event was fantastic, and it absolutely flew by. Its 10:30 and I'm about to go to bed. Truly amazing

it ended strong... but given how boring the middle was I'm not sure you can call it best PPV of the year

I'd give Summerslam a 7.5. Nothing was awful, just some forgettable shit here and there.

I thought it was very lackluster show aside from Bray and Seth winning

  9. Which one was better? All of their PPVs have boring parts - for a big 4 PPV this was excellent

  10. The only truly boring match was Bayley/Moon

Adding a Revival vs Anderson and Gallows match and as a result letting AJ vs Ricochet not get bogged down by OC bullshit I think the event would've been really really good.

Instead everything between the opener and the Kofi match kinda dragged.

Becky/Nattie, Finn/Bray, and Brock/Seth were fantastic. AJ/Ricochet was good, though I think everyone is tougher on it than it deserved because we're all waiting for us to get them going full speed (spoiler alert: we likely never will unless both guys go down to NXT). Kofi/Randy and Charlotte/Trish were solid Bs. The Goldberg/Dolph stuff was entertaining. KO and Shane was the best you could realistically hope for, I think. Ember/Bayley was probably my least favorite of the night, purely because there was no flow to it, but even that wasn't terrible.

Maybe most impressed with the pacing of the show. More of that, WWE, if you're going to insist on doing such large cards. Also really dug the way they snuck more people on TV without shoehorning them into matches. Carmella/Truth randomly on commentary with no explanation was awesome.

Goldberg vs Dolph dragged with the repeated finishes
AJ vs Ricochet was a letdown
Trish vs Charlotte did nothing for me
KO vs Shane was fun in places, but didn't really have much wrestling

Bayley/Moon was the worst... but if you just watch the first match and the last three you don't really miss anything of value. And honestly you could just watch the last two matches and be fine -- Becky vs Natty was good but wasn't nearly the same level of Candice vs Io and Kofi vs Randy was alright but the crowd was bad and I don't think anything from it was really must see TV

Maybe you're right that just being average makes it the best PPV? idk. It felt shorter than other PPVs which is nice. And the Bray stuff was easily the best thing they've done on the main roster all year. But I think I still overall enjoyed Extreme Rules more.

Yeah this was a solid show, if you skip the pre show bullshit 3 and a half hours. That is fucking remarkable for a SummerSlam these days. They cut a bunch of matches didn't they? Perhaps that was Heyman chirping in Vince's ear that SA shouldn't go past midnight.

Had to pause for a minute and just saw the bray entrance and match. Holy fucking shit everything about that was awesome. Wife said “fuck this” and left the room when they showed the lantern lol.

I think Sami vs Black was the only thing that got cut. Which would've been a perfectly fine and fun PPV match, but if you're gonna cut one match from the card it was the right match to cut (and I say that with Sami and Black being my two favorite WWE superstars)
