Brown bottles >>>>> green bottles >> clear bottles. Brown stop 90% of UV light degrading the beer.

Also, a beer outside in the sunlight for 3 minutes tastes as fresh as a beer stored on a warm shelf in a supermarket for 30 days which tastes the same as a beer in cold storage for 300 days. I believe that’s the numbers but it’s a 3/30/300 rule about freshness that’s adopted in the industry and made famous by Miller of all companies. I LOVE drinking on a patio but hate what it does to beer/wine.

All the schools in our district have mandatory locked doors, the main entrance requires you ringing a bell to get buzzed in, and then you have to sign in and get a visitor badge at the main office. And the main office at the high school I work at and my alma mater (same district) is locked from the outside, so you can't get out of the office into the main building without getting 'buzzed' out. We all ahve badges that let us get out ourselves (well, at least from one of the doors. almost none of our badges work on the other door it's a PITA)

So what your'e saying is, when you're drinking outside on a sunny day, chug.

So it’s largely anecdotal for me, but part of white claws success is everyone I know and am friends with in the beer industry in Michigan swears by it (me included). For sales reps of breweries we have beer samples on us at all times, usually in form of 4 or 6-packs in a cooler. Every rep I know now also has a sixer of white claw in there too in case they need them. It’s insane the stranglehold it has but I love flavored seltzer so of course I was all in on the hard seltzer game.

That said it should be the peak summer for them then drop off next year like the hard alco-pops of a couple years ago.

Yeah. Or have a patio umbrella or at the very least drink from an opaque glass.

i'm totally on the white claw train after trying it for the first time last month. my friends clowned on me for trying to order it at the bar but jokes on them, they had all the flavors

  9. I drink seltzer all day, so I haven't gotten into it as a night drink yet, but I've been meaning to try it at some point. What I like about beer is that it signifies my day is over. :crylaugh:

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

Or the mall, or a waterpark, or a gym, a friends house when they plan on taking them out to pizza, or the park right by our house, or the massive highschool right by our house, or when getting groceries, watching a movie or at work typing this message right now. My workplace just had training on what we are to do as the leadership team, it's summed up in a powerpoint. My oldest starts cross country practice in the next couple weeks in which him and over 100 others will just be sitting in an open field...this will be a part of our society for several years even if we DO get government leaders that prioritize fixing it...it's so overwhelming.

As for the anxiety discussion, my wife suffers from anxiety, is untreated, and relies heavily on me to help her get through the day. It's worst when she's driving, she has to refuse going out with friends, or meeting up with other kids/parents if the destination requires her to hop on the freeway. She fears something happening to our kids, stresses about whether or not they are eating enough etc. This is a topic we discussed this weekend and it was heart wrenching comforting her through her reaction to this happening to our kids. Especially with these 2 events being outside a school, but at the Mall and a Walmart, which we find ourselves at often. If she ever leaves the house again it'll be more than she's comfortable doing, as she worries at this moment that I am at work. I've walked her through my building details, my plan to get out, which helps, but even having the discussion with each other is something we shouldn't even have to consider.

Sorry, rant over...just can't go this deep into it with her as it will cause her to panic and there's really no one else without it turning into some politically biased 2nd amendment discussion with those I see every day.

It is absolutely awful that you even have to think like this, but here we are.

Honestly, I am using this fun beer discussion to avoid these thoughts of my own for a few minutes.

Gotcha...i'm behind on the thread and didn't see I had just inserted all this in the middle of a fun beer convo...woops.

I recently had way to much of this over the weekend at a wedding and it's the most refreshing beer I've eve had.

Yeah, it's pretty depressing when having anxiety about leaving the house for fear of getting shot at the grocery store is a very valid fear. I mean, at this point, if you're a parent, it's almost irresponsible to not have a family plan in the event of an active shooter situation.

But, Republicans tell me I'm just paranoid. American has been made great, after all, so surely we can keep it great in 2020.

I just took my kids to see The Lion King the other night and I honestly spent about half the time looking at the two exits and thinking about how I would attempt to shield the two of them while we made our way to whichever exit the shooter didn't come in while also pondering the fact that while stadium seating is fantastic for everyone to see the screen it also makes you almost completely exposed to someone firing up at you from below and also the fact that if two shooters came in from each exit simultaneously we would be completely fucked and I would either end up watching my children be violently murdered in front of my eyes or I would be murdered first and they would end up being violently murdered while alone and helpless and terrified without me even around to try to pretend things were okay for their last few terrifying painful seconds of existence.

Yep, I spent the first 10 minutes of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sitting in my front row seat wondering if a shooter would start in the back or the front. Such is the price we pay for our precious freedom.
