    Everywhere you look... Prestigious

In response to an earlier discussion. I don't think Tom re-joining Blink means that Skiba has to leave. There is no reason Blink couldn't be a 4-piece.

Of course that probably isn't likely. What's more likely is that Tom may record and/or tour with the band while Skiba is doing Alkaline Trio stuff and they can have sort of a rotating roster of co-frontmen. I would be down for that.

I like California but it is missing that certain something that Tom brought to the equation. I would like to see them write music together under more cooperative circumstances again in the future. Plus I love Alkaline Trio and want to see a new album from them!

Disappointing set list but I guess it makes sense to stick with the same festival set until the official tour starts up. They even had their old touring stage blink flag that they have been using since 2013 so I would imagine there would be a new stage set design too.

Also that review read pretty positively for a 5.5, if I had to guess the score from reading that it wouldn't have been that low lol

“No Future” sadly gives an adept description of what is in store for the band. Not in what the song says, but more in just the title itself.

Lol from a review on theyoungfolks.com (whatever the hell site that is haha) edgy!

It will probably be a more fitting descriptor for that website in the long run lol

Honestly, they have even more possibilities on their future than they would have had if Tom was still in the band.

If Tom had stayed: New album would have been set to release late 2017 but get pushed until almost late 2018. That would also be the final album they would release. Mark and Travis wouldn't sit around waiting that long ever again.

With Matt: opens up possibilities of a 4-piece band or an option for Tom to contribute to a new album. Also puts a spark on his ass to actually be present after seeing the process of this album and it's response.

Whatever the future is for Blink, it's definitely not close to being over in my eyes. We have another 10 years with Mark and Travis. Granted, the last couple of years of that will be a greatest hits world tour that seemingly never ends.

I just take any negative review as if it is a child who doesn't like change. This album is great. Is it their best? No. Is it close to the best? No. BUT, it is a great album and better than Neighborhoods and is showing the motion forward that this band wants to take.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Summerfest show was fantastic last night. Long live Skiba.

I took the girl I have been seeing with me, and we made it official at the end of the show. Great way to end the night.

I really can't see blink ever becoming a 4 piece band with Tom's ego. I really don't think Mark or Travis will ever want to work with him again after the positive recording experience they had with Matt and Feldy. And I don't see Tom ever changing and being flexible and not what to do things his way or no way.

Anyone else feel like Kings of the Weekend could be an MxPx song? I can't help but hear Mike Herrera's vocals during the "Until Monday morning strikes again..." line. This is far from a criticism by the way.

  10. Tom's latest post on Facebook is a prime example of why I don't want him going back to Blink ever again:

I landed on the Tarmac, walked off the plane, and met a smart and fit man in his 60's. Never seen a Multi-Star General before.. Let alone talked to one. He led me to a table in the back of a large room. He leaned across the table and said "It was the Cold War, and we lived under the very real threat of Nuclear War every day... And somewhere in those years...We found a life-form." I said, "Sir, I need help telling young adults this story..." He said, "What do you need?"...."Advisors", I responded. "I need high-ranking Advisors in the Military, Intelligence and DOD to help guide me." So- I was given 10 Advisors, each with knowledge in different areas that pertain to UFOs and the very real National Security issues associated with them. I do wish the press would ask me about this, rather than write stupid headlines about Aliens... I have been given a gift, the ability to tell you all our biggest secret. It will come in books, feature films and documentaries. It's called SEKRET MACHINES

Wow that does seem like some deep end shit right there. I enjoy conspiracy theories as much as the next person and one of my favorites to kick around is that when someone knows classified secrets, the government immediately tries to make them seem like a lunatic. Not saying that is the case, but it's fun to think about haha.

One of the comments on that Facebook post made me lol:

"I read sekert machines and enjoyed it. I am looking forward to more of the books. I think humanity is on the verge of paradigm shift...and i think tom delonge will play a part of it"

How can people buy into this shit? :crylaugh::crylaugh:

the p4k review didn't pan it as much as i was expecting. i know they put together everyone's scores for the albums, make an average, and pick whoever had the closest score to review it, so Stacey probably had it at a 6 or something.

California's metacritic score is way below Neighborhoods' and that's so weird. should be the other way around

California is definitely a solid record. Do I feel like they could have taken more risks? Maybe. However, I just wanted some summer jams and something that was better than Neighborhoods and DED. I think this record accomplishes that in spades.

Summer Fest must have been a trip for Skiba. I saw Trio there a few years back headlining one of the GA stages, and they had a fair enough crowd. Probably somewhere around 1k people.

lololol at "Sober"... "This is a bro-country song played on a distorted Les Paul. If you took the structure of this song and had it sung by a Tradley Wiltkinson or a Chetton Krillbert, you'd have a hell of a honky-tonk".

In some twisted way, they're not that far off, but holy cow, did that make me laugh.
