I had a strong feeling Tate wouldn't die but I wasn't positive

 

Pretty much was always certain Tate wouldn’t die but I never would’ve guess dog food weaponry and acid cigarettes and flame throwers etc so it all still felt very unpredictable. Also while watching I was 90% sure Pitt was dying at the Ranch.

 

Right, agree with all of this. You're saying the specifics were a surprise, I get that.

I was pretty sure Tate would live. After Cliff survived the ranch, I thought the hippies would recognize the car outside Rick’s house and kill Rick and then Cliff would walk in and kill them. Then it would end with Tate going to meet Rick only to find him dead. I liked what we got way better.

Just got back from seeing the movie and totally didn't stay for this - DM me if you can!

 

So I just saw Kill Bill Volume 1 for the first time... think that might be his masterpiece, holy hell.

 

V2 is even better imo

 

I wanna bet the Academy gives him that Oscar out of self indulgence

 

Man as legitimately great as I think like 4 of his movies are truly Basterds might be alone on its own tier

 

Well fuck, now I'm kinda wishing I posted my guesses that these were both likely to happen haha. Ah well.

A 4 hour cut of the film would be great. I think Tarantino's style would translate to TV extremely well.

The best picture thing makes sense for many reasons, mainly because all these years later Tarantino is Tarantino, still on top of his game and somehow hasn't won either a best picture or best director oscar yet.

 

People have already been talking about this being a possibly weak year for Oscar movies, so it’s definitely not out of the realm of possibility.

 

Last year’s was shit, only a handful I’ve liked so far this year.

 

God I just love when movies inspire this much discussion.

 

Guess I'll post this here: I'm midway thru True Romance and I'm liking it a lot. Already more great moments than what I was expecting

 

Feel like we're throwing the baby out with the bathwater by calling this a shoo-in to be nominated. We just started August!

 

yeah no Oscars talk until December 25th when Little Women comes out and wins every single Oscar

 

Too early for Oscar talk? Pft. No movie this year is going to make me cry like The Farewell did, so there's that. But this new Tarantino movie was pretty good, too, I guess.

 

Yeah, we’ve still got the Irishman and Cats still to come. Let’s not be too hasty to make our predictions.
