Dragon Con is great because it goes 24 hours from like Thursday to Monday and is spread out through hotels and city blocks instead of just a convention hall. Makes for a lot of really fun times running into celebrities at parties or just wandering around people watching. They’re also usually pretty chill about just chatting at their tables without paying for an autograph unless it’s like a HUGE name. I’ve met soooo many horror/cult film people over the years.

 

Picked up Criterion editions of Night of the Living Dead and Funny Games (which I haven't seen) today. Can't remember if I mentioned it, but I also picked up the Criterion edition of House a week or two back.

 

Need to pick up that NOTLD Criterion

 

Funny Games original or remake? I’ve only seen the remake but heard it’s basically a shot for shot remake. The fact that most of the violence is off screen is what stood with me.

 

Original, but yeah, even though the latter had more of a mixed critical reception, I read a comment (on Reddit fwiw) that the remake was actually closer to the director's original vision? But the original seems beloved, and it was the one available/on sale, so I went for it.

 

I’m giving Final Destination 3 a replay tonight cause of all the talk, and god damn is this bad. The roller coaster hasn’t even fallen apart yet and I already want to die myself. The terrible typecasts and misogynistic humor is nearly unbearable.

Just watched the trailer and, yep, The Lighthouse looks fuckin' rad

 

Now that Nightmare on elm streets are up on shudder, I’m gonna try to do a run through.

Last time I watched the first two but wasn’t really feeling 3. Other than the first two, I’ve seen new nightmare (wasn’t a fan) and Freddy vs Jason (also bad)

 

3 is for sure my favourite Nightmare, though A New Nightmare definitely gives it a run for its money
