Seeing everyone else's lists makes me realize exactly how many releases I haven't even gotten around to yet this year.

Finally got around to listening to Thrice's new album after reading the "hype". Much like their last few albums, I just don't care.

I did, however, laugh upon seeing a comment elsewhere referring to one the songs on the album(near the back, I believe) as a WWE theme song. You know, those discs released in the early 00's, full of grunge retreads and unknowns plus Zebrahead! Kind of sad in a way because I saw the connection.

I am looking forward to the full length of Bong Mountain(dumb name aside) in a few months though.

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

i literally just looked up the album title on amazon because i already had no memory of who released it.

  6. You're not alone. I don't think they could give away the album. It barely sold anything.

Hotelier and 1975 are obvious as the top 2. Those are untouchable.

I was not aware Holy Ghost was rated so highly, I might need to check it out.

New 1975 fell off with me almost immdeiately save for "She's American."

I don't get the hype with The 1975 either. Also just joined because I'm appalled that there's no mention of Vektor on any of the lists. Best relentless riffage in years. Also, the Modern Baseball love is insane too... I don't get that. I'm a sucker for good pop-punk but that definitely isn't it. The Hotelier is also my number one for the year so far, though

    2016’s Midyear Best #3: Thrice
    2016’s Midyear Best #2: Pinegrove
    2016’s Midyear Best #1 & Honorable Mentions

I wrote a review for each of my picks over the past 10 days. I'm linking only to the top 3 because those all turned out...special. They're long, primarily because I go into biographical and philosophical takes on the albums. They've also become some of my most-viewed and most highly complimented blog posts ever. I think the greatest compliment came from Hands Like Houses themselves, replying to my #1 review of Dissonants, saying, "Quite possibly the most satisfying, encouraging and intelligently considered review we've ever received. Thank you."

  24. o'brother was on my top ten and DK and JH&SB were honorable mentions, which means I guess I must check Greater Pyrenees out!
