Which FD is it that has the rollercoaster scene? That scene always irritated the hell out of me, largely because there’s a part that doesn’t make any damn sense

 

I believe that was 3

 

That one is 3, which also has the gonzo tanning bed scene.

 

Riiight. 3 is completely ridiculous lol

 

Which part bothers you? It definitely went off the deep end of silliness compared to how terrifying and believable the car crash was. It’s been so long since I’ve seen it I can’t remember exactly what goes on but I know it’s not how rollercoasters work.

I think the death that annoys me the most is the acupuncture one.

I could be misremembering now, I’ve only seen the movie twice (and not for a long time now), but I seem to remember in her vision of the crash there was a creepy guy on the ride with a camcorder filming the two attractive girls on the ride, despite there being a sign that said something to the extent of “no loose objects on ride.” In the vision, he drops the camcorder onto the track below while going upside down (I think), and when the car comes back around the wheels hit the camcorder and go off track, or something along those lines.

When she comes back to reality, she gets off the ride, but the ride instructor also kicks the creepy guy with the camera off the ride and tells him “no loose objects” or something like that, and yet the roller coaster still crashes. I think there was something else at play that made the coaster crash as well, and I may not be remembering the scene exactly how it played out, but I never understood why they even had that guy and his stupid camera come into play at all in the vision if it wasn’t going to occur in real time.

Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong or tell me I’m an idiot if I’m seriously misremembering the scene. Like I said, it’s been quite a while since I’ve last seen it haha

 

I remember seeing FD3 in theaters and I was working the main Superman rollercoaster at my local Six Flags at the time

 

The tanning bed death haunts me to this day
I had never been interested in using one before but I sure as shit won’t since seeing that movie

 

the first movie was written as a spec script for the x files which probably explains this aspect of it.

Also my dad had to tell me that Robert Englund aka my FAVE will be in PDX for a convention and I was like ooooh let's go! And then he was like meh it's expensive.

He ate sushi a table over from a huge group I was in at Dragon Con one year. He had some pretty funny reactions to the people who tried to talk to him or act like they weren’t staring.

 

Omgggg!! If I was him id take every advantage to be fun and ridiculous. I'm totally not a convention person. I hate spending money and also standing in lines and being around lots of people and I still think the idea of paying money to meet someone for five seconds is kind of a weird power imbalance.
