I've heard nothing but bad things about working with Jamey. Apparently he doesn't allow his own band members to have his phone number and will only respond to them via email. lol

for real. say what you will about jamey's shitty twitter feed, but the dudes in hatebreed are competent at their instruments. i also doubt that the other dudes are only able to reach jamey by e-mail considering hatebreed has been a band for 25 years. he's just an out of touch old hxc dude who's lucky he still has some relevance.

na, this was with Jasta. I don't remember who it was that said it was the case, but he said he felt more like an intern than a contributor. Jamey would make him run and get coffee and shit. He was basically just an employee.

 

So Deftones got strong-armed by Chvrches booking agent to give them a high slot at a festival they conventionally wouldn't ever play? Got it, thanks Jamey.

Jokes aside, it's cool that there's some sort of mutual appreciation to make this happen between the two bands.

 

ah. gotcha. that makes more sense. i just assumed it was hatebreed. it just seems weird he'd leave people he's been in a band with for 10+ out in the cold like that.

that said, it's still a bit weird for me to hear that about jamey because everything i've ever heard about him is that he's a pretty congenial dude. he has a really strong reputation in the hardcore scene, which is saying something considering how much of a cesspool that scene is nowadays.

 

The amount of times a shitty dude has tried to get me on his podcast to debate feminism in music would actually shock you. Why is this the go-to method of devil’s advocate.

The name Hatebreed sounds like a generic nu-metal band from the turn of the millennium and nothing will ever convince me otherwise regardless of what they actually sound like. Fuck that guy.

The HxC scene liking this guy probably should have been the first warning that he suuuuuuucks.

I'll be the first to admit that hardcore has its issues as a scene, but just because someone is generally liked by people in it doesn't necessarily mean they suck.
