They didn't have the best injury luck for a few of those years

Plus we'll have to go through this again next year as well.

Really this could end up just being a one year situation. KD probably opts out next year, then GS has no bird rights on him and they have to pay Curry, too.

very true. just read that Westbrook was out for those playoffs, which obviously had a lot to do with losing to Memphis in 5.

I see it as Durant leaving for the team that knocked OKC out of the playoffs and his chance to win a title. Like it was with Lebron, I think this is more about chasing titles than a basketball decision.

I just see it as Durant chasing titles, like Lebron did in leaving for Miami. Its basically Durant spiting in the face of OKC by choosing GSW because they were up 3-1 in WCF, and blew it. So he goes to that team? Terrible.

This is like LeBron leaving Cleveland to join LeBron with the Heat after they had already won a title. It's so much worse than LeBron leaving Cleveland the first time. That was at least unproven.

it would be interesting if the league could somehow make a rule that you can only have a max of two players getting paid over 20M a year just as a way to try and level out teams so people don't think the league crashes and burns with only 3 good teams a year. won't happen, but would be fun to see how that would spread out talent / teams.

The point of the NBA is to "chase titles". If Durant's primary goal is to win a title, he made the right move, 100%.

You want to get mad at it, blame the NBA for creating a system that allowed him to be able to make that move.

You can't even blame the NBA, you have to blame the sport itself. Basketball is inherently like this because there are only 5 people on the court so it's easier to have an amazing team by adding one or two players.

has any team had two regular season MVP's on the same team at the same time before?

***guessing 60's/70's Lakers or Celtics if any.

how the fuck does ESPN have all these videos and cartoon segments ready to go? did they have one made for each team he met with, just in case, like they do with football championship merch?

"Creating a system", AKA free agency. Like every other professional sports league has.

I've seen multiple "I'm crying" on Twitter from their fans, their bandwagon was already huge three or four years ago... Now it's just a marching band

Lebron and Shaq on the Cavs lol

Dr J and Moses Malone if you want to count when both players were still good.
