Crawl was fun as shit! Just got back from seeing it.

 

Never been to Florida but had a friend who moved there essentially inherited his grandma’s house and he said Florida doesn’t allow homes with basements given the weather so this movie was suspect

 

Not entirely true. There are areas of Florida where basements are feasible. There is no state wide ban or anything.

Why Most Houses In Florida Are Built Without Basement

Edit: but for the record, I never saw a home with a basement when I lived in Florida.

 

i think the movie actually takes place in a crawlspace

 

"crawl"space, nailed it haha. but yeah there's an interview out there where the director actually talked about this. and that while it's still not super common, numerous houses that they looked at not only had crawlspaces, but people would dig them out further for more storage space.

 

Shudder Will Stream AMC’s “NOS4A2” in the US and Canada Beginning in August! I meant to check this out, did anyone keep up with it? if not it's coming to Shudder in august.

I heard it was bad, and not even in a fun to watch kind of way.

 

It’s far from bad. Not as great as it should be but still really solid.

I am in awe of how bad Crawl was

 

I wanted to like it so fucking bad, and then I thought maybe the positivity from critics was due to embracing the B movie thing but it did not

They could have leaned into the absurdity and atleast made it fun but instead they tried to attach emotional weight to a Great Swimmer rescuing her daddy in a crawl space from an alligator that shows up (barely) on occasion?

Baffling

seeing Crawl tomorrow with my AMC pass, stoked, catching Rocketman today, and hopefully Midsommar finally this weekend. I keep trying to schedule with my friend but at this point next time he can't go he's out of luck haha

 

Midsommar was insanity. You're not prepared, and you never will be. haha.

 

I've avoided as much as I can so I can go in as dark as I was for Hereditary haha. only thing that is less going in dark is now I know what kind of movie he can make, it broke me, and so will this haha
