Ppl are sharing a clip of Scott calling 14 yr old Taylor attractive and saying u couldn't tell if she was 14 or 21 apparently. Not gonna start off my Monday morning by watching it but so typical. I remember having a man I viewed as a mentor and thinking he was a father figure type to me until he "joked" that I could only have the day off for a wedding if I sent him a pic of me in my dress. I feel like scooter is deservedly getting a bulk of the hate but Scott was like her mentor and a trusted figurehead from the beginning of her career and he is trash

What is the "revenge porn music video" from Kanye that Taylor mentions in her post? I'm out of the loop on all this.

That’s disappointing and it looks like her stans are really jumping down her throat. She’s since unliked it. Oddly enough, BJ Novak liked her post.

“Playing the victim” aka exposing a common and shitty industry standard and calling for change. I can’t stand these people.

Having worked closely with Scott before, I just want to jump in and say he seemed like nothing but a class act. He was heavily invested in making music, the music industry and the discovery of new artists and bands. I’m sure you could say it’s was to make more money, but that’s the position he is in. He’s also made a lot of other people a lot of money.

In 2019 you’d hope artists are aware of the risks/rewards of signing with a label (based on other artists past experiences). Artists on labels are like employees. They provide you with the “tools” to do “the work”, but they own the work you did on their time/money. Hopefully a better system could be worked out in the future where the persons writing the songs have more rights to the songs.

I saw this statement as well from Scott. So, It’s Time For Some Truth… and thought I’d post.

In a situation where this a A LOT of VERY SHITTY behavior flying around, Borchetta name-dropping those charity benefit concerts and the way he does it is particularly fucking trashy and disgusting. I mean, the entire thing is fucking awful, but I was actually taken aback a little bit in that section with how low he went.

Also, I am completely and utterly fucking sick of the fake surface-level positivity bullshit where celebrities respond to something by saying there's too much negativity out there already. The way they throw it around it ends up seeming like since the world is already pretty fucked its a free pass for more people to just continue being shittier and shittier with nobody saying anything.

Unless you are going to go full Marianne Williamson with it and completely commit to solving real world crises with self-actualization bubbles and peace swords and whatever the fuck else amazing and hysterical shit she throws around, don't go there. You're being just as fucking petty as all the rest of us by responding to things in a high school level bullshit way on social media in the first place - that fact doesn't change simply because you said: "There is already too much toxicity in the world and this type of negativity just drains me and you need to learn about loving yourself. Namaste."

Artists not owning their songs/masters is bad for artists and bad for fans. Not sure why anyone would argue in favor of Big Machine here.

I would also like to point out that Taylor has spoken extensively about how Manchester and the Las Vegas attacks left her with extreme anxiety over performing. There are literally videos of her getting freaked out on stage because she thought she heard someone coming up behind her. She has files upon files of stalkers and they break into her houses on a quarterly basis. It's not uncharitable to not want to appear at these events - I would take a guess that she considers her presence a safety concern for everyone involved.

  17. Because they don't like Taylor Swift. It's really the only reason, unless you're the kinda person that argues companies should be able to exploit their workers because they signed up for it or whatever whack-a-doodle libertarian bullshit gets passed around as ok because it's how it's always been.

Plus the Manchester concert happened when she hadn't been in the spotlight for like, a year. It would've taken a lot of attention off of the actual cause if she had shown up. Same for March for our Lives, especially since that was before she had started getting political. Such a low blow from Scott but thankfully not many people seem to be falling for it.

Camera Operators don’t own their shots. Technology developers from big companies don’t own their own software they developed at work. Painters commissioned to work don’t own the original. Journalists don’t own their articles in newspapers.

It’s sort of part of the deal. My friends shot of Kawhi Leonard hitting his game winning shot doesn’t belong to him. He doesn’t see additional profit for where or how often it is played. He gets paid, if everyone’s watching or no ones watching.

Now an independent photographer/journalist who would have paid for the rights to a seat at the game would the rights to all photographs they took and sold. They would absorb the cost to try and make it up on the back end.

Artists need to have a label willing to work that way. There are decades of artists being wrongfully screwed as an existing example.

I wish they all owned or had access to what they created.

These people are all doing very well financially and it’s too bad they can’t find a way to work together. Sucks that it doesn’t seem to be the case.

I can only speak to my experience working with Scott. He owns a portions of work I have done. I signed the contract and I am fine with that. I wish my contract was for millions.

I have never met Taylor, so I can’t speak to what she is like. I realize that this is her thread and most people are fans of her. Also, if people are apologizing to her, then clearly some people have done something wrong (Justin).

Either way they hope these people can resolve things in the long run, so it can be about the music.
