His stats were but he didn’t pass the eye test. Lots of weird selfish rebounds on defense but not a whole lot of defending to go with it

 

I mean, he was on the Knicks so, kinda makes sense. No way he would be starting anyway.

 

He barely played during his time with the Knicks, mostly speaking to his solid-ish start of the season with Dallas

Weird because the Knicks loved him and wanted him back, all the players spoke so highly of him. Maybe he just didn't want to be there anymore and it showed.

 

There's no way Atkinson even wants him, I wouldn't be surprised if he's the 11th guy on that team (assuming this whole thing will happen)

I think he’s a great locker room presence. In Dallas he was always smiling and playing around with coaches and players and he seemed to be a good mentor to the younger guys, but his playing just does not live up to the kind of contract that he wants.

Like, that's a good situation right there. You get a max contract and you ain't gonna find a better or more accommodating PG to play with. If he goes anywhere else, it'll be because of foolish pride.
