I'm already starting to think about my top songs of the decade list and I Love You Honeybear is probably top three

    what a waste of wood

He played a new song last night and it sounds great.

Still can't believe I'm seeing him and Jason Isbell in 10 days.

Last night was great but he forgot the entire second verse of Holy Shit so they just skipped it lol

Did him and Jason play for the same amount of time?

I got there kinda late but FJM definitely played longer. About an hour and a half while Jason played for an hour

My show had FJM closing if that makes a difference

Isbell came on at 8:15 and finished at 9:15. FJM came on at 9:45 and finished at 10:55.

Was FJM listed as playing last?

FJM is top billed on every press release and poster, but the tour was described as a co-headliner. I called the venue before to ask and they said they didn't know who would be playing last. So to answer your question, I don't really know.

Here's Mr. Tillman if anyone is curious about how the crowd would react to the Jason Isbell line (lots of cheering, obviously).

If anyone can find the initial press release, I remember on the email I got announcing the tour is listed who closes which dates

I wonder how much Father John I’ll miss out on since Jason Isbell is closing my date :(

Damn... I’ve seen FJM a whole lot and have been dying to see Jason Isbell outside of a festival setting but I’m a bit bummed Josh isn’t closing at the Detroit date.

  16. Isbell is wonderful though!

Oh don’t get me wrong Jason is in my top 5 favorite artists. I wish they could both play for 2 hours haha.

Saw him for the first time last night with Isbell and am uninformed. Which album should I check out first? Thought he was pretty good live. Thanks.

Thanks. I knew little about him, thought his voice was incredible and I had no idea he did piano ballads and had horns in his band........just not what I expected at all (in a good way).

Sorry, one other question, is his stuff released as J. Tillman in the same vein as the FJM stuff, or considered a totally different act? Just curious.

its wildly different but still very good. a lot more stripped back and serious for lack of a better word

  23. You've probably already started with Honeybear, which is good, but I would also recommend starting at the beginning with Fear Fun and simply moving forward. No wrong way to do it!

I undervalued Fear Fun for a long time and now it’s the one I reach for the most (probably cus it’s still the freshest for me since it was only end of last year I really dived into it)
