So, I missed out on the leak last weekend and finally (FINALLY) got my pre-order today, so I could listen to it. I'm just in awe of how well it all turned out. Not a skippable song on the whole record, really. Literally my only complaint with this is (as many others have said) I would have just ended it with "California," rather than "Brohemian Rhapsody." I feel like if "Brohemian Rhapsody" had come after "Left Alone" everything would have been perfect. That said, the album is pretty much as close to perfect as it can get, I think. Perfect amount of "Whoa-oh's" and "nah nah's," too. In fact, I probably could have done with a bunch more.

Interested to see where it lands on my year-end list. I'm confident it'll be top ten but how high remains to be seen, depending on how the rest of this year's high-profile releases go (Bouncing Souls, Descendents, Menzingers, Yellowcard, Bayside, Moose Blood, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Against Me!). This has been/will continue to be a great year for new music.

Also, anybody else think that "The Only Thing That Matters" sounds like an unreleased Alkaline Trio song? Matt's songwriting is all over that track.

After listening through about 20ish times...

I'm not really digging "Sober" at all. For some reason I get an All Time Low "Dirty Work" vibe from it. Maybe it will grow in time, but for now I've been skipping it.

OTHERWISE, I'm really loving everything else. Cynical, She's Out Of Her Mind, The Only Thing That Matters, Kings of the Weekend, and San Diego are probably my favorites of the unreleased, but it's all just so solid. Couldn't be happier with how things turned out!

I like Sober way more than most of Dirty Work, and I'm a huge ATL fan. haha

Sober is such a good summer sounding song. And I like that the verses are kind of a different thing for them.

Normally this might not be super high on my end of year list, but it's been a weak year for me personally so far, so this is probably top five at the moment.

"Just a drunken bike messenger on a Tuesday night" is my favorite line.

Also, let me go on about Matt a little more since "Sober" is a topic of discussion: the final chorus, going from the vocals/drums singing and Matt comes in with a huge "yeahhhhhh"? That part is my absolute favorite moment. I skip back to the beginning sometimes in order to hear it again.

Vocal melodies on this give me a strong Motion City Soundtrack vibe

Amazon just emailed me and said I could listen now cos I bought the CD! Listening and typing knee jerk one liners as I listen haha. Sorry for the essay!

Don't like the start of Cynical but like it once it's kicks in.
    Still like Bored to Death.
Not really liking She's Out of her Mind outside of the a-a-a-anti social bit. Don't like the lyrics.
Not really feeling the first half of Los Angeles but love the bridge.
Like Sober a lot (which I was expecting to hate because I hate FOB haha). It doesn't "sound like blink" but it's a good song.
Built this Pool weirdly didn't even feel out of place.
No Future has really grown on me because I didn't like it at all at first.
Love Home is such a lonely place. (It's so pretty the corniest lyrics don't matter and are canceled out by the sweeter ones)
Kings of the Weekend is pretty good outside of the corny-ish lyrics. Love the riff.
Love the verse on Teenage Satellites. The second half of the chorus is pretty good but the "Teenage Satellites" tag at the end feels kinda shoehorned in. Too many whoas.
Left Alone is borderline AVA and I'm only half joking. Beepy intro and gentle (pretty dull) verse with a heavier chorus. The chorus is killer though. Like the whoas on this one with Mark singing over it.
Rabbit Hole sounds better in the context of the album but I don't really like it on its own.
The verse of San Diego is pretty bland but I love when Matt comes in and overlaps in the chorus. Unnecessary oooohs in the 2nd verse.
The Only thing that matters is Mr Chainsaw in the verse (which is awesome) mixed with a TOYPAJ b side chorus.
California is a nice gentle closer for the proper songs.
If they made Brohemian into a serious song then then intro would have made a killer opening track. Dumb way to end the album.

Not as guitar driven as I'd like and a little repetitive with whoas and nas and shouting the vocals over just the drums and kicking it all back in. (Reading back I realise I've repeated the word corny/like/love 20 times in this so I can't moan about repetition). Matt sounds amazing. Some of songs have bland verses and great choruses and vice versa. Also I can forgive any "bad" lyrics if the tune is good enough and they MOSTLY get away with it.

Overall I'd give it maybe a 7/10. Pleasantly surprised!

Yeah as a big fan of All Time Low myself, I can't believe someone would compare anything on this to Dirty Work. Even the two or three decent songs on that record are leagues below everything on here.

That record is such a stinker. Guts and A Daydream Away are still among my favorite songs from the band, but most of the other songs I often forget exist.

Thank you. Somebody agrees with me about "The Only Thing That Matters" having heavy Trio vibes.

The thing with Dirty Work, and the main complaint I still have with it, is that it doesn't feel energized at all. On the contrary, almost everything on here has that spark.

Oh, absolutely yes. A bit of Trio, a bit of TOYPAJ, and I also here the St. Jimmy comparison someone made earlier.

Don't misinterpret what I said lol, in no way, shape or form did I compare this album even remotely to Dirty Work. All I said was that parts of one song give me a similar vibe. Never said I hated the song, it just didn't hit me with first listen like a few of the other songs have.

Oh yeah, I got what you were saying. Thinking about that just led me to elaborate more on the differences I feel between the two, that's all.

We've only had this album for a week and already all I can think about is that supposed EP that they're releasing later this year. I want as much music from this new era of blink as possible.

Fuck Is there any legal site to stream the album yet? I bought it and I can't wait till it drops on ITunes. Definitely picking up my physical copy tomorrow at Best Buy.
