Probably, but they did do a US Summer Tour and then that massive Fall US tour when Daisy came out in 2009. Maybe the kid meant the tour will be announced in October, who knows.

 

It's an incredibly easy task to make a Facebook post or tweet or whatever and just update people on the status of the band. A hell of a lot easier than putting together a whole series or backdrops/merch/stickers alluding to it. Therefore, it's a carefully calculated decision not to be clear and to keep up their air of mystery. They enjoy it, and it works in their favor, so I don't blame them totally. But if they were concerned with being "cut and dry" they'd take the 45 seconds to type up a few sentences explaining what's up.

I have no idea why people are throwing around the world "entitled" in regards to thinking that's obnoxious. There are plenty of ways to be entitled regarding the band, but this ain't one.

Why wouldn't they do another tour? They're calling it quits so they wanna make some cash and give their fans one last shot. It makes total sense to go out with tours that'll give everyone a chance to see them.

 

One big tour spread throughout the next year and a half. Gone for a couple weeks at a time.

Exactly. They owe none of us a thing. I am not gonna act like they haven't been dickish in the past, but in the past couple of years, they seem to enjoy being a band a lot more, and they gave us remastered versions of the demos, and a final album, none of which are owed to us. I am just happy they gave us 5 amazing albums (I count the demos haha), and more than likely, they will add another one to a discography I will already cherish forever.

 

It shouldn't make you mad that they decided to announce they were breaking up by putting dates on merch. 15 years ago people wouldn't be this pissed off if Brand New did exactly what they are doing right now.

Would a nice short post be welcome? Of course we would all prefer this. It isn't going to happen though so move on. They are breaking up, have said they are breaking up. So far there is no evidence that you are being punked.

The new Brand New record is probably out but nobody knows. It's the Frog Fractions 2 of music.

So with rumors of them touring again this year, just curious what size venues people are thinking they might play? The venue for this co-headlining MM tour here in NC holds like 7k which I doubt they will play again if it's just them solo but I could be wrong
