Are Pantera an artistic group?

 

Hey, fam, sorry to spoil the fun in here but something has come up and I need some feedback on this. So despite my anger towards my ex over this custody dispute, I feel like she and my daughter are in an domestic abuse situation spearheaded by the man my ex is with. I won’t discuss them here (PM me about that if you wish) but I have statements from my parents and others about things they have witnessed and in my gut, I feel like this is textbook abuse. If anyone can help me, I’d greatly appreciate it. WEEZER

Shocking to hear my sister tell me she just had a conversation with my mom who was less than positive about her friend's kid coming out as gay. My sister didn't really tell me the whole convo but said my mom was basically like "I can understand how it might be upsetting as a parent to deal with that" or something which is soooo strange because when I admitted I was dating a girl she was supportive.

Watching my mom spiral into this ignorant, jaded person and completely cocoon herself in the conservative bubble of the south has been depressing.

I'm sorry Lisa. My mom has been on this same path and has been going full right wing the last few years and it's so hard to watch her say the things she does nowadays. I've basically had to limit contact with her because of this.

I am such a mama's boy, I talk to her at least once a week. She has been through so much and is the strongest woman I know. Very loving of all walks of life and idk, im not trying to rub anything in. I just am more grateful for her than anything else in this world.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that as well, I basically don't talk to my mother anymore either, I just hear about these things through my sister. Honestly I could hear my sister's hesitation the moment she started telling me this story because she knew it would hurt me. My brother and sister couldn't care less who I date, they love and support for me for who I am and I feel very lucky for that. My dad doesn't know and that's for the best at this point.

But my mom, she used to be this kind and caring person. She had a lot of horrible things she dealt with, I know what happened with my dad basically destroyed her and there's a lot of layers to the way she is, but instead of getting help for her trauma she's kind of used it as this armor and is just basically mean and cold.

I didn't want to get into this too much, but while I was in SF my brother's wife called me mid-fight with my brother and said he was acting scary and saying he was going to kill himself. She left with the kids. I called my mom cause she is the only one that lives in the state, and she told me that he is an adult and she can't always run to save the day anymore.

Not only that, she also said that my father got violent with her when I was an infant in her arms and the cops were called and she left for awhile. Basically like well yeah domestic violence happens sometimes, they need to grow up and work this out for their children.

My brother was saying he wanted to kill himself and my mother couldn't be less concerned and then also has to drop another story about how awful my dad is, that I really didn't need to process since I don't remember it. But now I have to deal with that too.

It's all a bit much to process right now. Not to mention I cancelled on warped last night (have to go see my brother and help him out financially so yeah sorry I don't really care right now about a music festival that supports and enables abusers, I know I am disappointing you but please understand my situation) and my friend hasn't even answered. :/

 

just a couple complaints about the A1 thread

 

Sorry I just wrote a whole rant didn't mean to bring down the mood y'all lol. Just very upset right now and I appreciate how everyone in here is so supportive.

 

Rock n roll mostly with some rap and electronic at times. Its cliche but I like a lot of genres. Open to all sorts of stuff, hbu?

 

Ugh that is a lot of stuff on your plate Lisa, real talk please reach out to me anytime you need to vent. I myself have been through a good amount and I have also been support for many many others who have dealt with and are currently dealing with alot. It's been my experience the most simple but effective thing you can do is talk to people about it, people you trust of course. I know it doesn't solve problems but it is SUCH a better alternative to holding it in and ruminating over it again and again in your head
