Does anybody have any Indian food recipes they can share, preferably vegetarian/vegan? I am really craving it as I had some amazing Indian food in SF but it's expensive here at home and I want to learn how to cook it myself and try to limit the oils/fats added. Love things like chana masala, saag paneer, aloo matar, curries, etc. Spicy is good.

I’m a huge fan of serious eats, and they have quite a few Indian recipes.

They also used to do The Vegan Experience where they only posted vegan related articles/recipes for a month

if you're also looking for a naan recipe, i've made this recipe and it was so good and easy. i didn't add the ground cumin or curry powder and rolled the dough ball into some fresh minced garlic before i pan fried it.

I don't know what it is, but this episode reaffirmed my feelings about this show. It always feels just a bit off. Like the pacing is weird or the commentary is just a lethargic or weird. I can never quite place my finger on it but there's something about this series that is just not...good? I don't even know if that's the right sentiment.

Went to my mom for dinner yesterday. She made ravioli nudi (naked ravioli) and a white bean dish. Both recipes are from Tuscany.

We ate some of the ravioli nudi with sliced raw tomatoes and olive oil, which is really delicious it turns out.

It was great. The beans too, but the picture isn’t very useful.

I feel like I'm in the minority of internet folks who actually rly enjoy mayonnaise, but using a garden vegetable cream cheese spread on my sandwiches instead has been a game changer.

On a semi related note, I've been able to mostly eat a plant based diet again but I just cannot hang with vegan cheese. At least not the kind at the store or that I've tried making on my own, cause I have had good cheese at vegan restaurants. If I need to substitute things, Plant based milk is good, beyond burgers are good, non dairy yogurt is good, vegan mayo is good, vegan butter and marshmallows are good etc etc but I can't find anything to fill the cheese void. Like I'll add nutritional yeast to pasta and things sometimes and it's good, but when it comes to like cheese on a sandwich or macaroni I just can't find anything v good

Real mayo is also not at all bland. I'm all for making fun of white people but no need to drag mayo down with them.

At my mom’s again because it’s too hot to cook this week.

She made Tuscan food again. A tomato and sausages dish, for which she used a vegan sausage, with polenta that she put in the frying pan a little. Notably, the polenta is made with corn and semolina instead of just corn, which turned out to be amazing. 0B8D467A-C2C9-472F-ABF8-7B82436A5993.jpeg
