yea, i regret reading that.. i literally feel like I got dumber from reading those comments (who knew that was possible). I'm glad that Dustin pushes back against their fans when they show ignorance, I expect to see many Dustin twitter wars in the month to come.

 

I wish he'd just save his piece of mind and never check them either lol. I dont wish that on a good dude like Dustin.

I like the back half. Kinda speaks to how their sound has evolved and they have a broad fan base to please. Palms era really only has the track Deeper Wells and Branch in that particular vein of sound.

 

For some reason, I had an urge to listen to Wolves earlier this week too.

 

The last two tracks vocally are exactly what I like about new thrice. Would have made the record stronger for me if they were included.

The second track is pretty good but I feel like Dustin can write a more interesting political metaphor.

First track just doesn’t do it for me. Drums pattern is meh and I don’t like the chorus.
As usual with thrice. Still love the last 90 seconds of the track.

The ep is phenomenal, I can’t stop jamming it. They need to go in this direction for lp 11

 

Beyond the Pines still gives me chills.

There are some instrumentation moments on the EP that are just so cool. The groovy bass and drum part on Stumbling West.

 

Yeah, it had been a long time since I listened to it.

Also I agree with your sentiment about EPs. I barely listen to EPs because I know I'll have to put something else 12 minutes later. I actually made a playlist on my phone with the tracklist another user made to incorporate Deeper Wells with Palms and it helps a lot.

 

Beyond the Pines is the best song from Palms era soooooo......

Pines, Just Breathe, Blood on Blood. Every track on Palms is better than the Deeper Wells title track though.
