Feldmann worked on both albums too. Must be one of the bands/songs they paid homage to.

Nobody likes you when you're 23

Guys, still on vacation, the shit out of this record is echoed. Summer's here all the way and this album proves it, while walking on the beach and California is recalling blink's old legacy, we've got tracks like "left alone" that are classic Blink songs.

It definitely has more Skiba vocals than I expected. I like the back and forth on pretty much every song though. It's not like Neighborhoods where Tom or Mark had songs that were just their vocals.

    Don't be a jabroni

My wife cannot stop singing "Sober" she is obsessed. We have spun the record in the car every morning on the way to work for the last 4 days and it just puts us in the best fucking mood.

Anyone hear of anyone winning the signed bass or any of the VIP tickets yet? And did I read someone saying the signature may be printed on the cd/vinyl?? I saw numerous pics on social media of them signing themselves I thought?

Definitely would've figured the first single would be an all Mark song. So awesome that they treat Skiba on this album like he's been in the band for years. Love the respect for him and that they both sing on every track. It really seems even. Would be surprised if it's less than 45% Matt.

I think Skiba is one of my favourite things about this record. People saying that he and Mark sound similar I get, but I really think he adds another level to things. There's definitely some parts that i think he suits so well it gives me chills.

I think one of the best things they did on this record was making Skiba's presence noted. Since they're introducing a new member to the line-up, it doesn't make sense to hide the guy and pretend he's not there, go all the way. Most people I talked with about the album have loved Matt Skiba's voice.

It's awesome to love new blink music this much for the first time in 13 years. Matt and mark's voices compliment each other well and I am just loving these songs and seeing them so happy to be a band again.

Me too! Even though I feel like this is not the best work they've ever done, it's good enough to make me excited for blink's future. Can't wait to see what a couple of years playing with Skiba might add to their next release.

I always preferred Matt in alkaline trio as well. What an underrated band they are too, hoping this brings attention their way as well

Definitely not their best work that's true, but best in 13 years by far. It's a solid album that i can see myself coming back to very frequently unlike Neighborhoods or DED. I remember being pumped for new Blink when there reunion was announced in 2009 and then Up All Night came out and really lower my excitement/expectations, where as Bored to Death amplified it to new heights.

My biggest fear is that blink was going to become a sort of 'Sublime w/ Rome' thing, where you know they are a famous and stablished band, but don't have the respect the original line-up had. If we take in consideration the success of 'Bored To Death', I'd say blink's safe in this matter.

I was just thinking about Alkaline Trio today and how I'd love for California to get enough attention to where a Trio album or two creeps into the Billboard 200 a bit.

True, Sublime with Rome had a fair amount of drama/turmoil from the beginning though. Where blink seems to at least be on good terms with Tom as well. Tom however needs to step back and not run his mouth on social media and then multiple edit/delete his posts.

I don't know, I still love Neighborhoods and DED, I have really fond memories of good times I had while listening to these records. I never thought blink would be back as a band at all after 2005, so I just embrace everything they released after the hiatus and try to enjoy it as much as I can. I know there are flaws, but they're my favorite band I'm always glad they're still putting out music.

I misworded that slightly I do like Neighborhoods and DED, they just didn't grab me and excite me the same way California has.
