Five episodes in, I can say I’m really into it. The uncertainty of everything that’s happened so far is compelling without being frustrating. I love that we don’t know whether to blame certain phenomena on the supernatural or the because of debilitating mental health in the wake of an inexplicable tragedy.

In this particular episode, apart from the stoning at the very beginning, I was really chilled by Kevin’s conversation with the ATF guy...the way the conversation went from professional jargon to a complete change in tone with the guy lowering his voice and basically saying something like “hey wanna have us come in and eliminate them for ya”.

Place is so expensive it literally scares me more than most horror stories. I feel like making people pay THAT MUCH for rent is an abuse of human rights. Families who take home less than $120k per year are in poverty; that is LEGIT the poverty line in SF. School teachers, are in poverty. I don't even understand how the city has retail or service workers at ALL.

 

Why are you mansplaining housing costs to me?

 

It’s definitely cause for drastic changes to housing laws. I’ve only ever been to the airport in SF, but they had some gender-neutral bathrooms and even a doggy bathroom so I thought that was pretty neat.

 

I apologize. I only meant to share an opinion. I realize re-reading it that it didnt' come across that way. I can unintentionally be kinda intense when I have a strong opinion about something. Could've had a much less self-assuming tone in that post.

 

Dammit, now I feel like a douche. Let's try that again:

San Fran is just a really scary city to me haha. The idea of there being no limit to how much capitalism can squeeze out costs and make it impossible for even a lot of professional workers to survive is really, really uncomfortable.

It's mind boggling that they still have people who, like, take your order at a restaurant haha. In my imagination SF has automated service in every store because no floor-level worker can afford to live.

While the area has its issues I really do love living here!
