hyped for the animated show, and the animated in the trailer looked sweet!

 

Nothing can be worse than JW:FK, so kind of looking forward to this.

 

I still think Fallen Kingdom sort of rules. Easily the best sequel of the series in a franchise that admittedly has a very low bar for sequels.

Shouldn't we be getting some announcements on JW3 sometime soon? I wish Bayona would direct again, he's got a much better understanding of good direction than Trevorrow.

 

I definitely regard TLW as the best sequel in this franchise, but i guess out of TLW, JP3 and JWFK youre not choosing from a large or talented pool. And fwiw I did really enjoy FK.

 

I tuned out of FK when Wonderboy Chris Pratt was shot WITH A FUCKING TRANQUILIZER and still managed to barely avoid hot lava by rolling over at the last second (even though I’m pretty sure that’s not how lava works and he’d still be covered in first degree burns being that close)

 

My favorite sequel is still Jurassic World. It's a mess, but a ton of fun moments ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

I would rather watch Jurassic Park 3 a hundred times before I watch Fallen Kingdom again.

 

Fully expect this Netflix series to be better than the last 4 movies

I finally watched this last night and yeah, not very good. Jurassic World was so good and makes Fallen Kingdom look like shit. There were some enjoyable scenes but overall it was nothing memorable and definitely some things in the plot that needed to be changed. I feel like they tried too hard to make this a monster movie and make the dinosaurs and action scenes act like what you would see in a monster movie, which definitely in a different direction than what previous movies were focused on.

 

Fallen Kingdom is the only sequel that I outright couldn't stand. Lost World is just kind of there. 3 has nostalgia pinned with it, so I can still enjoy it. JW was just a lot of fun all around.

 

Each Jurassic Park movie has been worse than the last one. It is a direct descent.

No, it is one of the best big-budget blockbusters ever made.

 

I agree that each Jurassic Park film gets progressively worse. The first one is an absolute cinematic classic. The Lost World is probably the best sequel while also probably being Steven Spielberg’s worst movie. (Disclaimer: I have not seen Duel, Sugarland Express, or The Post.) The drop off in quality is pretty damn huge from the original to TLW, but then I would say it stabilizes a little with each progressive sequel being worse, but not as drastically worse as TLW is to JP.

I am still ASTOUNDED at how much of a squandered opportunity Jurassic World is... Colin Trevorow has to have incriminating pictures of Spielberg in a fucking bank deposit box somewhere. I just don't understand it.

There are sequences in Jurassic World that honestly play as if a FUCKING CINEMATIC MASTER like Spielberg engineered a movie sequence as an experiment where he tried to suck all of the energy, life and magic that he usually imbues his films with out of the film completely, as if he set himself a goal of trying to create the most boring and lifeless sequence ever put to film.

I just looked on boxofficemojo, and I feel comfortable declaring that in my opinion Jurassic World holds the distinction of having the highest ratio of terribleness-to-financial success ever. Jurassic World aside, on the All Time Domestic list you have to go all the way down to #19 to hit a movie that is even questionable with Shrek 2, and then a little further to #’s 22 & 23 until you start hitting movies that I think you can argue are bad with Hunger Games & Pirates of the Caribbean sequels. On the All Time Worldwide List you have to go all the way down to #13 for JW: Fallen Kingdom or #23 for Transformers: The Dark of the Moon.

People love dinosaurs and they can make pretty neat looking ones now with CGI.

 

The Lost World has its flaws, and people point out the big ones, but the trailer sequence hanging over the mountain and the velociraptors in the grass are better than anything in the next three sequels. Spielberg's filmmaking talent overcomes a lot of script issues, but the other directors don't have that talent.

 

I’ve enjoyed all the World movies so far. I read a few days ago as well that Dr Grant and Dr Sattler will be making an appearance in the final instalment next year so I’m pretty stoked about that.

 

I just want more horror-esque stuff with the mosasaurus like they did in the beginning of Fallen Kingdom. A lenghty scene in the next one

This. I think the best of these movies are when they lean a little into the horror elements (ex. velociraptors in the kitchen, velociraptors in the tall grass, mosasaurus in FK, etc.)

 

I still think he's sexy as hell, but every time I watch JP I'm always taken aback at first by just how goddamn sexy prime Jeff Goldblum is.
