Really enjoying their new album but that is not surprising. They're a fantastically consistent band.

 

So, apparently, Conjurer and Pijn have made a collaboration album together under the name Curse These Metal Hands. +10 for that Peep Show reference and +1000 for just being fucking legit.

 

it's really good. It's not anything like their normal projects and is more an ode to bands like Thin Lizzy, etc.

 

It's so damn good. Both Pijn and Conjurer are so sweet and I'm jazzed that there's something collaborative they've done together.

 

As confusing and annoying as the whole legal spat going of with Batushka is, I love this new single and the last one. Litourgiya was such a fucking beast, and I'm going to be loving this one too I think, as it sates my love of dark atmospheric black metal and my interest in old Indo-European languages.

Also, the ex-member they screwed over and kicked out released his own 'Batushka' album recently and it's pretty sick too.

 

Mol released a new EP today as well.

 

Fuuuuuuck.

My bad. It's been a while. Personally I don't see the Baroness comparison (or I won't, because I hate Baroness) but fair enough, I get that. I guess you could say later Mastodon as well then, hey.

 

I won't stand for the Baroness hate, but whatever dude, your loss. At least you posted some other cool shit.

I don't hate Baroness (there are few bands I truly hate) but I don't care for them at all. Mastodon, Intronaut, Elder, Khemmis, all do it better. Cool album art tho

 

I didn't mind the first two Baroness albums when they came out, but nothing since ever did it for me.

 

These are my sentiments exactly on the latter part. Intronaut in particular do that for me best.

 

Also, that Cursed Earth comeback release - The Deathbed Sessions - is worth a listen if anyone likes metallic hardcore shit. It's not exactly what I would've wanted from the return of one of the best contemporary Aussie bands in existence but it has its moments and most of the songs are pretty cool. The ones with Matt from Kublai Khan and Larissa from Venom Prison are the best, and the one with Joel from The Amity Affliction is top notch because it's nice to be reminded he has some serious vokill skillz even if his band haven't really been any good since their second EP.

 

Even as I've drifted away from deathcore in the last few years, I still have a lot of time for Thy Art Is Murder, and Human Target is looking to be a pretty fucking sick album. "Death Squad Anthem" is even better than the first one they released and I've been blasting it while cleaning my house for like the last 3 hours.

 

Happened to see Upon A Burning Body tonight. Haven't really listened to them since their second record, but Intermission and Sin City are still pretty fun live. Might have to give their new album a spin.

 

Saw Spirit Adrift on Tuesday. Really enjoyed em! Anyone into their new album?

 

I need to spend more time with it, but I liked it on first listen. Probably gonna try to catch the show next weekend.
