I know I was shitting on Double or Nothing being on PPV, but holy shit it did crazy numbers. In the comment of the Reddit thread about it, it gave some good perspective. 98k buys for DoN, TNA peaked around 60k, and WCW with Hogan was 110-120k. That's pretty nuts.

 

That's really good considering WCW and TNA were both before wrestling fans were conditioned to not buy PPVs too.

 

Yeah that shit is ridiculously impressive.

50-60k would’ve been a success. Pushing 100k is a grand slam for them.

 

You can blame ESPN+ for this but DoN did more buys than UFC 236 lmao

 

Thinking about this more, WWE Network and New Japan World were both launched in 2014. These companies have had 4+ years to train their customers that a PPV only cost $10.

The reaction in here when AEW announced the price wasn't unique. It seemed jarring because it's been so long since that price was the norm.
