"California" seems to be a love/hate kind of song for sure. Can't wait to hear it and see which side I'm on

 

i this album. it may end up being my least favorite blink album, but i don't even think that matters. it's a new chapter for the band, and for now, i'm on board. it's too much fun not to be.

 

Depends what shipping you got. I'm in TN and priority usually takes 2 days from CA for me

Do we know if Mark wrote much if any of the guitars on this album? I saw on the CD notes he's listed as bass and vocals but I feel fairly certain he had to have written some of the guitar parts on this album.

 

I understand why people are complaining about lyrics to songs like She's Out of Her Mind, Kings of the Weekend, etc.

The way I see it, the blink dudes are smart enough to know that the lyrics are corny and stupid. If you try to take some of their songs seriously, your bound to be disappointed. They're supposed to be fun/goofy. People who complain about the 40 year old dudes singing these lyrics don't have any ground to say that Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus is a jam (ITS A JAM). Or Stacies Mom. Or many many Bowling For Soup songs. Being stupid and corny has always been in this scene (and has made it damn fun). If you want to pretend you're too sophisticated for it...go ahead and be disappointed.

Maybe people forget this since those songs are stuck in between more serious ones. Or maybe I'm just telling myself this to get through Kings of the Weekend.

 

My girlfriend told me today she hates Carousel :(

Overall I really really like the album. I think my least favorite song is Sober. I like Kings of the Weekend except for when they actually sing "We are the kings of the weekend"...that part sounds so bad, kind of kills the song for me. My favorite song on the album is San Diego.

 

Still holding out. 2 more days!

They got so much shit for cowriters on Dirty Work. Pretty sure they specifically avoided it on Don't Panic except for Outlines.

That's kinda lame but whatever. Don't Panic is a jam, and Dirty Work gets way too much shit.

Nothing Personal and Don't Panic are my favorite of theirs, Put Up Or Shut Up if you count it

 

I just subjected myself to a few 5SOS songs. That "She's Kinda Hot" song has so much extraneous bullshit thrown into it. There's even an elephant noise at one point. Feldmann is pretty damn restrained on the blink album what I've heard so far.

 

Itll be interesting to see how much Matt Skiba's net worth increases in the next two years. It's currently at 3 million I think?

 

In this whole situation I'm more than happy for Skeeebz. He deserves to be rich and happy, haha.
