I love how campy and subversive the Chucky series is as a whole, and the fact that they have always been ok with switching things up instead of just making the same movie over and over again while losing quality each time. Plus Brad Dourif can do no wrong and makes anything entertaining.

Sadly if chorus got an entry in the series poor @currytheword would be the first to die for thinking punting Chucky would do anything. Classic turn around while smirking only to be surprised from behind moment. What a shame.

I'd be the lucky one with minimal screen time.

Also have you seen my punt?

5 episodes into Slasher S3 and loving it! Really like the story, it actually makes some sense.

Also funny observation that it really didn't take long for them to show boobs

I don’t think I’m gonna make it to three. I blew through the first and it never ended up coming together for me, especially when a few problematic tropes popped up in the last couple episodes. I guess that shouldn’t have been a surprise given how much they threw at the wall, but it did take me out of it. There were a couple kills and scenes that were kind of interesting though. And I still have no idea how to classify it even after seeing the whole season.

Gave two a shot this afternoon and after the third or fourth time they showed FIVE YEARS EARLIER in the flashbacks I totally checked out.

I’m itching for more horror TV now though. Definitely in the mood for Halloween all summer.

if you hate the flashbacks, don't bother with season 3. lol

I don’t mind flashbacks, I just had to roll my eyes at them not trusting the audience to get that it’s back in time when it’s suddenly summer and dead people are alive again, lol. Such a strange choice.

Three seems to be very polarizing based on the few discussions I’ve seen. But I guess the show is in general, so it must really go off the rails to have a harsher split than the earlier ones.

Got through five episodes. I think my biggest issue with shows like this is how the continually make it seem like one character is the bad guy for an episode and kill them at the end. It works for films, but when you have ten hours to fill, it just makes it predictable and a little tedious.

I feel the same way about shows like this making all the characters unlikeable. If it’s 90 minutes I don’t mind some awful people getting sliced (although kill ’em all is never my favorite), but if it’s a series I need people to root for or be invested in.

Ditto. And the girl they are holding up as the protagonist has gotten such little screen time, I'm not even sure what the point is.

I can see the story ending one of two ways. If it is what I just came up with, lol fuck this. I could totally see it being what I'm thinking based on how fucking hokey the season two ending was. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I thought the first season of slasher was super meh, absolutely loved the second, better in every way, and so far the only thing I like about season 3 is the cool mask but I feel like I’m watching AHS.

I really hope the upcoming AHS season rules. The 80s slasher summer camp theme is so perfect for me

This story actually makes sense though compared to AHS

If someone doesn’t mention a cabin having knotty pine the entire season will be a waste.

I watched The Perfection, after reading about it. I still don't know if I'm totally okay with it, but I think knowing what I was getting into helped. Still a bit disappointing. It was a little all over the place, and the dialogue, particularly the profanity, felt very forced. And, as if the movie wasn't troubling enough, the first half uses an Asian country as a backdrop and the characters who don't speak English are very poorly portrayed.

I didn't like Velvet Buzzsaw, either. Netflix isn't doing so well in this genre this year.

All that being said, I absolutely loved seeing Allison in another horror role. Will definitely be following her work--and Logan's--more in the future.

  19. Took me about 14 years but I finally watched The Descent tonight. That was fuuuuucked up. A lot better than the trailers made it look all those years ago though and I’m glad I apparently got the non-US ending

Just watched Halloween 18’ again and I liked it a lot at home with the lights off. My living room set up has a gap between the wall and my couch and you best believe I checked. He still creeps me out more than any other killer in horror.

HAHAHAHA The end of Slasher is so fucking dumb. It makes NO FUCKING SENSE given time lines and where people are in the story. Its pretty easy to guess from the onset. I almost wish the twist was my second guess I wanted it to be the parents. This season was a mess to me and I don't really need it back. So many poorly written plot threads. Jeeeeeeez.
