imo amputechture is definitely their third best and kinda underrated still. frances and deloused tower so high though

I’ve been listening to TMV a lot over the past two weeks. This band is so fucking good.

 

Always down for a new Mars Volta album. Hope they get weird with it

Yes! Glad to hear that they will be back as TMV. Not easy to make a ranking. I enjoy each album more on different moments. It probably depends on my mood. Only one thing is certain: Frances is my favorite.

 

Noctourniquet was awesome, if not quite reaching the highs of early stuff. So I'm here for the hype. Haven't loved much of their post-TMV output, but I trust they wouldn't tarnish the brand!

 

Oh man this is so on point. I'd move Noct up a couple spots but otherwise yes to everything. Bedlam is one of the craziest and most memorable listens of all time for me.

True. The band put out two of the best albums of the 2000s and they somehow never get brought up. It's a little sad.

 

To be fair, there has been a fair amount of discussion in the other Omar/Cedric threads!

 

I'm really excited about what sounds like re-presses of at least some of the other albums, too.

Cedric mentioned their back catalog was getting re-mastered. I assume they'd press tgem again, too, as they're all out of print.
