Reid has been an upper tier coach for two decades. He deserves top three and easily, imo.

 

Nope. Wentz only played 11 games last year. So we still started Foles in a handful of games. Injuries plagued the defense last year, we were starting 4th and 5th string CBs by seasons end and even into the playoffs.

We beat the Bears and advanced to the second round where we were beaten by the Saints, 20-14. We were marching down the field to possibly score at the end when the ball was dropped by Jeffery and landed right into the Saints DB's hands.

All in all, not as much as a failure as you'd think. Let's see how he does this year.

But I still hold him in high regard since not many coach's have outcoached the best coach to ever live in the SB and win.

1) Belicheck
2) Carroll
3) Tomlin
4) Payton
5) Reid

Basing it on their whole tenures. Not just right now. A big reason why - Reid is just as much susceptible to the “he has talent so it’s easier” argument. Let’s see how he does without Hill OR Hunt.

 

Yeah, I let the Mahomes hate and NFL "how the game is" rhetoric get to me.

 

The Chiefs were contenders for most of Alex Smith's tenure as well, so

 

Carroll is #2 because we always think the Seahawks draft dumb and have a dumb roster but they KEEP winning

He is a master at team chemistry, and at coaching the “whole package” - time of possession, special teams, all the “little things” that get overlooked are consistently how he gains an edge

 

Honestly if Mahomes was ever like "actually I think I'll leave football behind and start a cult" I'd probably join

 

Let's see how Tomlin does without Bell.

I just think it’s important to recognize that every HC was once an OC or a DC.

So coaches being better at one than the other just flat out makes sense.

BB, Carroll, and Tomlin are my top 3 cause imo they’re the only coaches who are great at both.

There are other “well rounded” coaches in the league but I wouldn’t call them “great”. For example, Jason Garrett.

I also forgot Harbaugh though. I’m gonna have to put him right at #6. And he’s very close to Payton and Reid. Honestly Reid’s time with the Eagles is what makes it hard to take him out of the top 5. He was fantastic in Philly.

I have Payton so high because I really think it takes a lot of guts and conviction to be that good at offense. He’s put up yardage and scoring numbers that feel like they will never be matched. It’s not just being “good at offense”, it’s that he’s SO good at it that he legit pushes the envelope of how many yards / TDs an NFL offense can realistically get.

You should watch Warriors basketball with me and my wife and listen to my dumbass takes with her

 

They beat the Bears thanks to the double doink, Foles was awful against the Saints in the playoffs only putting up 14 points.

 

It's honestly kinda funny to think like..."I wonder what Bill is in the mood to do" and then see him call a drop kick for Doug Flutie.
