I do think Harbaugh and Carroll are above Marrone

I just always thought Wilson saved his ass a lot ha.

Oh yeah for sure. Wilson is a top three QB who could legitimately be the best in the league if his best receiver wasn't Tyler Lockett and his best offensive lineman wasn't praying.

Do you think people overrate Peyton ? I only ask because I feel he should have won more than one SB with Brees.

Wilson LOVES praying wouldn't take any OL over praying

If Wilson was on the saints he'd be unstoppable

I think every long tenured coach has an argument to be overrated or underrated because they are coaching at the same time as Bill Belichick and coached through Peyton Manning's career as well which cuts into how many SBs any of these teams/QBs could have

Payton is probably the best offensive coach in the league but he also has the most overinflated ego and often trips over it in some big moments.

Hard to tell if people overrate Peyton. He's had years of success. He's also had a HOF QB for most of them. Curious to see if he stays with the Saints when Brees retires. You figure most of the roster would be the same - can he plug a young QB into his system and still have success?

Payton has one of the best QBs of all time. Had the best RB tandem in the league. Has always had an elite offensive weapon. His defenses have always been sub-par at best. Payton is definitely not top five.

You'd think the Saints would at least have more SB appearances with Payton at least, though, especially since they are in the NFC and largely avoid the Pats

These things are not true, he's had some very good defenses and has also frequently not had offensive weapons (or had offensive weapons that were worse on other teams)

Dennis Allen made the saints a contender

That's true, they're also in an extremely volatile NFC South though that seemingly rotates teams every year

Idk yeah I can see arguments that Sean Payton is overrated. I can also see arguments that he's underrated or that every coach is overrated or underrated (outside of BB)

Bountygate is also a factor given when his suspension occurred, plus the obvious massive no-call last postseason. (Not saying that's an excuse for the Saints not winning but it HAS to be at least considered in evaluating Payton's postseason career.)

Football is just such a hard sport to do this in, given all these teams with great QBs and great OLs and who actually made who great and who actually caused who to fail etc etc

Eh, he had Jimmy Graham and then Michael Thomas.
They were definitely a bottom tier defense for a few years and are just now getting to average. Probably forgetting his earlier years though, he's been there a while.

Jimmy Graham went to other teams and was immediately a "meh"-to-okay target. I'll give you Michael Thomas but he hasn't had MT long.

It's much easier with the NBA.

There is only one good coach - Pop.

True I actually think the Saints would have won the SB the last two years had they made it. Gotta remember the year before last they had the game in the bag and then the Minneapolis Miracle happened

Idk who's good at all in the NBA anymore. Pop and Doc (his real name is Clarence) and maybe Kerr if you think his development resulted in Steph/Klay/DG.
