Brad Pitt is great in Moneyball. He’s also good in Benjamin Button, his other Oscar nom. But yeah his legit best acting performance is probably Burn After Reading. Maybe Tree of Life, though that’s a tough one to compare acting performances from

Oooh forgot about Se7en. I also adore his Ocean’s performances. And he’s so fun in Snatch. Man, he’s great.

only Coen bros flick that didn't land for me right away was A Serious Man. Burn was an instant hit and oddly i haven't rewatched it ever

I think I was the only person in my theater who liked A Serious Man.

As famous as he is, I honestly think Brad Pitt is an underrated actor.

I’d give him one for Jesse James. That movie is basically perfect.

I really loved The Big Short, super interesting movie, but what exactly about his performance was Oscar worthy? It felt very workmanlike. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I’m just not sure what he did that stood out so much.

Already so many foot shots in the trailer, this is definitely a Tarantino movie lol

Looks absolutely amazing though, this is pretty easily my most anticipated movie of the year outside of maybe Star Wars

12 Monkeys is such an underrated movie. Pitt is great in it. And the SyFy channel series was actually really good.

I think they’re both on Netflix, at least they were recently. I know I’ve seen them both a couple times in the past few years. I wish more people talked about A Serious Man, Stuhlbarg is too good in it.

I missed this post and wanted to reiterate how amazing he is in Moneyball. That's another movie I think it's perfect, haha

the tarantino/pitt/leo interview in esquire is quite good, deals with a lot of overarching thematic issues that will presumably be inherent in this movie

this is a random tidbit/story from the interview I thought was fascinating, they were talking about how quickly things can change in terms of seizing opportunities/etc.

I have plenty of issues with QT, that being said, he has written plenty of female characters over the years with tons of dialogue. no issue with the question being asked just not sure it's really a relevant critique of him

QT has always been pretty defensive. He sees every question as a critique. I remember him flipping out over being asked about the violence in his films around the time that Django was released.

That piece is pretty unclear on the topic of Polanski, the article is written as if Dalton idolizes Polanski but it sounds like all he’s saying is the guy has made a lot of money (which was true at the time). There’s a world of difference between those two stances.

Since he’s known for his dialogue, if most characters fit into his usual type but Sharon is unusually quiet, that could certainly stand out to someone watching.
