Regarding the set list Marko from Sugarcult tweeted at Mark ‘Easy Target’ and Mark responded “done”. Someone also tweeted Dumpweed and Mark responded always so there’s that too.

Edit: Looks like Cynical will be played on the tour too.

Blink were probably the ones behind the theft of the master recordings of Green Day's upcoming album Cigarettes and Valentines, because of that tour. "We'll show THEM" they said, but then Green Day ended up releasing the best album of their career and one of the greatest albums ever, and then blink was like "shiiit, that backfired". Then after blink's reunion in 2009 they anonymously sold the masters back to Green Day and GD redid most of the songs during the trilogy sessions, and they were some of the band's worst songs, so blink finally lowered Green Day's popularity again. Boy, what a scheme. They really had me for a long time there.

Honestly, knowing Tre's weird sense of humor I could see that quote being 100% a joke that doesn't really read like that in writing

Hopefully he doesn’t paint them, burn them, or ruin them the way Tom did to his gear when he sold it. Shit.

I don’t think we’re getting an album announcement until June.

Seems like a very safe assumption considering just a few days ago the record didn’t even have a title yet lol

This is probably a stupid question but what would the peak number have to be for the song to be considered a success? Top 20? Top 15? Top 10?

  14. For any band? For blink? Their streaming numbers are good enough that it’s already close to making good money in royalties. Top ten makes it undeniable. They’ve had three #1s.

It’s top #10 on billboards hot rock songs. Have no idea what that chart measures though.

Thanks. Yeah I talking specifically for a band like blink as I figured the charting numbers vary by band and their popularity.

I was just looking up their charting songs. I was pretty surprised that Man Overboard peaked at #2, I guess it just goes to show you just how popular they were in 2000. Also surprised that Stay Together For The Kids wasn't lower and After Midnight peaked at #7, I didn't think it did that well.

I'mma just step down and say I was wrong in anticipating this song wouldn't be a massive success. The lyrical inconsistencies and weirdly quiet and quiet/undynamic intro still bothers me, but it's still has smash hit potential.

  19. Yeah, AM hit the Hot 100 too, at like 88.

  20. However, since the chart dated October 20, 2012, the Hot Rock Songs chart has followed the methodology of the Billboard Hot 100 by incorporating digital download sales, streaming data, and radio airplay of rock songs over all formats.

    Currently #9

Yeah I mean the song is great, I love it, but I don't remember it getting much love and figured because there was never a 3rd single for Neighborhoods it did poorly so the album cycle kind of died down because of it. I'm pretty naïve when it comes to all these chart numbers/album steams/sales etc.

Do bands actually make money from streaming? Don't they get like a fraction of a fraction of a dollar per stream and you "only" get like a thousand bones off a million plays or something stupid like that?

Edit: I actually stopped being lazy and looked it up and it's 0.0075 dollars a stream on spotify apparently so 1000 plays gets them a crisp $7.50 split between everyone!

  23. BIOMY currently has over 3.5m plays on Spotify. Yeah, at the level they're doing, they'll see money from their streaming rights. (Most bands won't see much.)

I have heard from someone in a band that has stated bands do make money off streaming services.

If those numbers and my math are correct, at 3.5 million plays they’ve already made over 26,000 dollars from BIOMY alone. That seems fairly lucrative considering that’s just one platform and one song. Obviously all of that money wouldn’t go into their pockets, but still.
