cause they keep making a new Facebook whenever they do something shameful? and re-friending everybody else in your mutuals like nothing is wrong?

Haven’t used it since like 2015 and every time I see my girlfriend scroll through it I’m reminded why

 

It’s my best means of keeping up with all my friends when I’ve lived several places and also made a lot of tour friends / contacts I’d like to stay up to date with

If they were really your friends you’d keep contact with them via texting/calling

 

A lot of bookers/agents will reach out through FB these days

i started a rewatch over the weekend, still as good as i remembered

 

Not as easy as you’d think for a musician. I could do that if I only wanted to keep up with my inner circle. But there’s this much larger outer circle of people who help each other out because they have the same dream, people who have either let me stay in their house, or busted their ass to make sure I got enough of a crowd to get paid.

Or just people who saw me and supported me, I’m not a “known” artist so having a genuine supporter in another town means a lot to me and I keep up with those people even if they’re more so acquaintances than friends.

Do I have their phone numbers? Yes, but do we talk often? Not really. I want them to be able to reach me when they come through my town and vice versa, but it’s easier to maintain casual friendships through light hearted, low commitment interactions on social media online... cause you can respond to a message or comment on a status whenever you want, without it blowing up your phone and demanding instant attention like everyone else who calls or texts you.

Haha when I wasn't using Facebook much while making music I missed out on SO many bookings just because I wouldn't check FB messages (especially because of the stupid extra folder)

 

i am extremely jealous you won't have to wait 13 years to get a conclusion

 

Like if I kept all my tour contacts in my phone, that’d get overwhelming real quick. Then it’s like more than double the messages and calls with stuff that can more easily be filtered out through social media.
