I imagine that it's difficult to figure out the right life when struggling with that type of thing but I truly hope you find it because you're pretty lovely all around and you deserve it.

 

This is the correct take. It's so much more of a complicated situation when it comes to the numerous societal/economic factors that can push someone into joining the military that it can't just be painted with broad, "people in the military = bad" strokes. I hate very much what the military is used for by those in power, but for tons of individual men and women in the military the situation isn't so simple.

fun fact meeting Henry is what actually made me anti-imperialist.

 

I needed to reach a top shelf to grab a box. I get all the way to the top with ease. I didn’t notice it but as I was going down my lift clipped the side of the shelf and it tore off a piece of the lift. I went to go tell a supervisor but you are supposed to stay where the accident happened so I got in trouble for leaving the scene.

 

my twenty-two cents (i get more cuz i've been there) on the military: I had a lot of reasons for joining. Most of it was out of boredom. I wanted to travel. I needed a more steady income than Bed Bath and Beyond. I needed to get away from the toxic women I surrounded myself with. I just needed an overall change of setting. I think I'm in the minority with most of those reasons. It turned out being the best and worst decision of my life.

On one hand, I got a ton of life experience. I learned a ton about the type of person I was and the type of person I could be. I met a handful of great people and got some discipline. I learned that running is the greatest thing in the world and I never should have given it up.

On the other hand, you learn that people fucking SUCKKKKKK. So many shitty people in the military and you really can't trust 99% of them. No one actually cares about YOU. Everyone is just trying to check a box on some paperwork. People will lie to you and take you for everything you are worth. Its really such a bummer. I never knew depression until the military.

I miss it as much as I hate it. Also, fuck them for not sending me to Korea.

 

On the bright side, you can go to Korea as a tourist instead as apart of an occupying military force! Ehh??

 

I might end up taking a trip next year. The girl is from Shanghai and wants to go back. Travel once you are over there isn't terribly expensive. I think being in Asia in general is what I want. lol
