Songwriters often cite songs that are written quicker as being their favorite or often times, their best work.

  2. Just like how sometimes a band's fan-favorite songs/biggest singles were the ones that were written in half an hour or less. Over-thinking and over-analyzing every aspect of something can just take all the greatness out of it to the point that it becomes stale. There's something about catching that immediate spark and just rolling with it.

My point is that he's an embarrassment and thus people should stop whining about him being gone.

I don't mind the lyrics on the album. This band has never had stellar ones. Considering they wrote about 30 songs in 3 months they did have some decent moments lyric wise. I think this is a solid album and a great way to get blink the revival it needs.

i agree. they talk so much about how they love the untitled record and then go make a new album that sounds pretty far from it.

Hey, I just said it was the impression I get after what I've read and after listening to the music. I hope I'm wrong about all of it but it's just my opinion. I grew up with Blink 182. They were my favorite band for over a decade of my life. Enema of the State was the first CD I ever purchased. I'm not shitting on this record just to shit on it. I like it for what it is - there's some really cool and fun stuff on it. But I definitely don't love it. It's just how I feel at this point in time toward it. Take it easy on me!

You don't love the album so you're public enemy #1 for now.

Agreed. That song really stands out to me on this album.

The song I wrote and recorded in the span on an hour is the only song of mine to have any radio play and people always tell me it's their favorite so yeah quick work is fine.

  14. Saying songs don't have meaning/are insincere to the author isn't really an opinion though, I think that's what most people are responding to. Your like/dislike/indifference is totally an opinion, but the idea that writing a song quickly means the music is insincere I don't think really falls into that category. My assumption is that's why people responded — that specific portion.

Was he just trolling when he said he wrote that years ago or did he honestly come back to that idea....I feel dumb because it could easily go either way haha

  20. And there's the classic story about "First Date" and "The Rock Show" being written very quickly and sarcastically, and then became a couple of their biggest singles.

No, he really did. There's a clip of him playing it on some show from a while back.

this is pretty much how i feel. I love certain moments on here.. I even love the Nah Nah Nah's on california, and I love the production actually.. I sometimes just feel like I wish the songs were maybe 15-20 clicks faster.

I wouldnt have minded an untitled part 2. this record seems like it could have been after TOYPAJ in some regards. Which is fine but I would have loved to see them expand their horizons a bit and experiment with other genres like they did on the untitled record. I loved the "lets pretend like this is our first record" approach of untitled. This album seemed very much like a "lets make a blink-182 album". If i recall a lot of people loved neighborhoods when it first came out too. It will be very interesting to see the longevity of this album.
