My dad has some crazy stories man. But I guess anyone who grew up during a period of extreme racial tension in the ghettoes of Minneapolis and Boston, and then joined the military cause he had no options after dropping out of school, is gonna have crazy stories haha

He has suffered / struggled in every possible way it seems like

He did! Retired after 22 years and now he runs a team of programmers for a company that designs software for the military, while also being a professor for online courses at George Washington U. He does real well for himself.

The military gave him some psychological problems so we had a rocky period where we were estranged for awhile, but he got therapy and things are way better now. In general he made a lot of sacrifices so I didn't have to grow up like he did

Spent the last 3 weeks going back and forth with some company called Unum in regards to short term disability and finally today learned that I'm not even eligible for anything bc I needed to have signed up for it at the last open enrollment. No one mentioned this in the 3 other times I called. I don't have any insurance through my employer. I'm on Medi-Cal.
