This is awesome, jealous that you've met Mark and Travis. I've only met Tom twice and he was super nice both times. I could have met Travis on the last Blink tour at the Charlotte show because my friend and I were supposed to work the Famous booth for him but I couldn't not go to the show with my wife and had to pass it up.

This is how I've been listening to the album. I actually like the joke cuts.

 

Honestly my interpretation of these tweets is that Tom and Travis are actually making fun of people like us who freak out every time they tweet eachother lol

Same here, first album I ever bought with allowance money, and I was obsessed with that movie. Still pretty good actually. It's hard to put anything ahead of Dude Ranch but I think TOYPAJ is better.

Other than Dude Ranch being my intro to them, this is me to a T. Still wearing Macbeths.

i really dislike sober. especially the claps that ramp up to the chorus.

 

I disagree with people thinking that Cynical is about Tom. If anything I would guess it's about Mark's self doubts and the writer's block he's mentioned.

 

I don't think there's anything directly about Tom on this album. I think Mark is pretty over the whole thing and just wants to do Blink. At least I haven't heard anything that's like, obviously pointed at him.

 

Why the desperate need to show everybody they are still talking? Just do it privately

 

I'm fading fast on this record.

There are 4 songs I really like: Left Alone by a mile; then Home is Such a Lonely Place; California and Cynical.

San Diego and Sober are enjoyable to a lesser degree.

She's Out of Her Mind has its moments but I'd still make Left Alone the second single. It embodies the new version of Blink while pleasing both old fans and new.

Dying to hear the EP.

Mark and Tom haven't been the same since BoxCar. At at this point they've grown apart and it'll never be the same. I think Mark and Tom were like brothers while Travis was a cousin. They'll always be "friends" with travis, but Mark and Tom...Nah.

If you haven't already, you should read Travis' book. Really entertaining, really insightful. You've probably heard about half the stuff in it, but not the other half. Dude has seen, been through, and done some crazy shit.

 

Haha I bought it on release day. Idk that I've ever read a book so fast. Crazy how much he's been through.

 

What do people think about this album compared to +44? I've seen a lot of blink rankings but haven't seen if people like this more overall than the other Mark dominant record in his career.

I think it would depend on my mood. This is way more fun than most of WYHSB and will probably get played more in the long run. I do love +44 though.
