I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when the Wright brothers started telling people their idea about a giant machine that flies through the air - with people inside of it. Some sorcery right there getting people to believe it and try it.

 

It would be hilarious if Jesus actually came back and starting performing a bunch of miracles to try to prove his divinity and people were just like no man that's just magic

 

Soooo the lord of light was actually the one true god? Bc I'd make a case for the many faced god being real too.

 

I read the spoilers for the finale and it’s so fucking dumb. My god.

That’s what we were discussing last page...someone posted a few weeks ago that their theory was that red priestesses just practice blood magic but they wrapped in religion to make it more acceptable. Would explain why Lady Mel’s spells work, but why Jon said there was nothing but darkness after life. No lord of light or anything like that.

Interesting. Is there any evidence in the show that this is the case? They’re really invested in the prophesy and the whole light vs night with the white walkers.

 

I think it was just someone's theory so I don't know if there's any other evidence. I do think both Beric and Jon mention that they didn't see anyone or anything in death, just "nothing".

I guess you could say Lady Mel's human sacrifices and leech stuff is blood magic but sicne everyone accepts that R'hllor is a religion, they look the other way more often than they would if it was just straight up "hey yall gonna practice some blood magic now."

What do we think the last episode title will be? I'm guessing it's one of A Dream of Spring, A Song of Ice and Fire, or Fire and Blood (surprised that wasn't Episode 5's title....I thought it would/should have been that or "The Dragon and the Lion"...but they went for the bells callback from Varys in S2)

 

It has to be "The Iron Throne", right?

 

I was convinced for a long time that the title of the last episode was going to be "A Song of Ice and Fire" but now I don't really think that one makes sense. "A Dream of Spring" I suppose...

Nothing to do with the content of the episodes themselves, I really think the best title for the last episode would have been ASOIAF.

I'm trying to think of an ending I'd hate.....It's all going to feel really rushed no matter what. I kind of expect most of the predictable possible outcomes at this point (Jon as King, Jon giving up the throne, a democratic committee of lords, all the lords picking a new king, or straight up no more united kingdoms and they all split)...I can live with all of those, especially if they'r executed correctly (or, as correctly as possible considering the time allowed). I'd just hate something stupid out of left field like Arya or Gendry winding up in the throne lol. I guess Gendry wouldn't be THAT out there since he's Robert's true heir but...no. The new King/Queen should be one of Sansa, Bran, or Tyrion. No one else makes no sense at all and honestly any of those 3 don't make a whole lotta sense either other than their different qualifications for the job. Aristocracy/Oligarchy it is!

 

A Dream of Spring made a lot more sense when it seemed like winter would be a bigger threat to the entire season. I still feel like it’s a good bet, but most of this season as had kind of out there titles so who knows.

 

How sure are we that the spoilers for the end are real? You can still bet on a few outcomes for the final episode on Mybookie.com and some guaranteed money sounds really great...

But also I don't think I could bring myself to read the spoilers and ruin it for myself.

 

I have to be honest - I HATE the lack of story symmetry in how the very first scene of the pilot episode had a White Walker rising up but that entire threat was wiped out in Episode 3 of the last season. That will never not bug the hell out of me.

As for the spoilers, at this point everything has been weeded out so it only includes those who have been proven correct before. Some of the posts are from a super long time ago, so it wouldn’t really make sense for bits of them to be wrong now. There was a lot of discussion (and mostly just pure hope) about the possibility that some fakes were added in with real spoilers to keep everyone surprised, but after how specifically correct the last episode was I think the assumption is that they are on the money.

I definitely wouldn’t check any betting sites if you don’t want any clue about what the leaks say.
