An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I'd happily call it the greatest indie rock record of all time tbh

Outro of Oblivions reminds me of Sufjan and I’m here for it

I know a lot of people agree with you. I just don't get it. Aside from 3-4 tracks, I find it largely uncompelling.

I love Alligator but it doesn’t hold a candle to their later work.

the last five songs on Alligator is probably a lock for my favourite run of all time bar none. The National are great and I love them but they've never touched that run again for me personally. one man's take

  10. There was a period of time that I thought it was their best, so I get it, but I've absolutely outgrown that take. It's still a lot of fun but Boxer & HV>>>>>>

This ones gonna be a grower for me, but the title track is undeniably one of my instant favorite National songs. Takes me to a different reality or something

The only two I can say I really love are "Abel" and "Mr. November."

It's funny, my opinions on this band have similarly shifted a lot. A few years ago, my favorite was TWFM, which is probably third or fourth now. High Violet is their best, for me.

  13. I've gone full circle. When I first found this band around 2009ish Boxer was by far my favorite and it's probably tops again for me now

I could be persuaded that TWFM is their best now, which I never thought I’d ever say

My deluxe vinyl came! Unfortunately I didn’t get home from work until 10:45 so I can’t even open it because I need to go to bed
