Not sure if it’s anything but Like Pacific tweeted about a summer tour where they expect “ironic circle pits” Sleep On It liked the tweet and posted about a week ago about a tour for the moshers. I’m guessing they’re on the same bill?

Anyone hear anything on Summer Slaughter 2019? I know The Faceless asked everyone if they wanted them on the tour earlier this year, and As Blood Runs Black responded when the official FB page asked everyone who they wanted on it so far.

Im just hoping for more death and black metal and less core/djent related stuff. Also fresh blood, not the same bands over and over.

I always hoped they would eventually snag Carcass as a headliner instead if just recycling Cannibal Corpse and TBDM

LOL at The Faceless. If you want them to drop off before it happens, go for it, I guess.

I was wondering when something will be posted about it too but The Faceless are 100% confirmed for it

If Black Dahlia and The Faceless really are on Summer Slaughter I would think the smart thing would be to not get anymore bands from the 2017 tour, but who knows.

My guess for Summer Slaughter is something like this

    The Black Dahlia Murder
    Suffocation
    After The Burial
    The Faceless
    Cattle Decapitation
    Enterprise Earth
    Origin
    Venom Prison
    Spite
    Abnormality

I swear Summer Slaughter is the same lineup every year.

There isn't much variation. I mainly threw Venom Prison and Spite on my lineup for the sake of having a couple bands who never did the tour lol

Venom Prison are dope, I'd go to SS if they were on it with a few other good bands.

I feel like returning to the same bands (Black Dahlia, Cannibal Corpse, The Faceless, etc) stems from a "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" attitude. Last year they really strayed far away from the usual bands and genres, and it didn't pay off at all. Most people's accounts of the shows was that it was pretty empty until Erra came on.

That sounds about right. I remember loving the 2013 lineup (Dillinger Escape Plan, Norma Jean, Periphery, Animals As Leaders, The Ocean Collective) but it sold poorly in many markets because it wasn't a Death Metal/Deathcore focused lineup.

Disentomb would be awesome for SS. They have a new album dropping and they mentioned tour dates being announced soon, plus they put on a nasty live show.

I just got an email from Bandsintown saying Defeater will be in Buffalo in October- with tickets going on sale on Friday. Assuming there will be some sort of tour announcement today from them.

The Summer Slaughter lineup has been mediocre since at least...2013? I'd love to see a lineup that doesn't feature After the Burial, Veil of Maya, or The Faceless but Sumerian won't let that happen.

It seems lately that SS is just being used as a advertisement for Sumerian bands rather than what fans actually want. I get that the tour is owned by Sumerian records so we should expect at least a few of their bands, but the amount of Sumerian bands on the tour last year was ridiculous
