Fat Mike needs to go away forever.

 

Plot Twist: Tom is still creatively in the band and writes with them secretly while Matt agreed to be the voice and face. Per the contract, of course.

Hence Mark and Travis not really talking with Matt much.

 

I mean Skiba and Fat Mike are def. good friends or they were at one point. Matt was involved with "Home Street Home" before being in blink.

 

And he’s currently in a band right now with mark, and they seem to also be good friends. I just don’t get the ‘not taking to eachother’ vibe

 

Didn’t mike put California in his top 10 records of 2016?

Skiba was also best man at Mike’s wedding.

 

Personally, I get the feeling that the guys don't really talk or hang out much outside of interviews, rehearsals, and shows. I imagine they have separate dressing rooms and tour buses too, so they probably don't even see each other/talk before or after their shows. I think it's been that way for a really long time though. I think that's just the way they function. And if that's how it is, I'm sure it feels different to Matt than Alkaline Trio. I imagine Matt and Dan talk often as they've been best friends forever. So I'm sure Fat Mike's comments probably weren't too far off from reality, even though it sounded like he was trying to spin it to make it sound more dramatic than necessary.

Anyway, that's just my own assumptions though. Don't hit me.

If we’re spending any time talking about Fat Mike we’re doing it wrong. But if we’re all gonna sit around and speculate who texts who when and how much ... let’s just pack it up and go home.

RE: Fat Mike and Skiba... they are very close friends and have been for a long time, FWIW. I’m not here to debate Fat Mike because I realize his personality can turn people off, but he’s a deeply misunderstood person with an intriguing perspective on things (that I don’t always agree with), and I know Matt has been one of his closest friends for years.

I certainly recommend NOFX’s book. It can be deeply unsettling at times, but their candor is welcome, and it’s not always what you expect from “old punk guys.” Anyway, I digress. Just wanted to chip in.

 

Songs being secretly about the band not talking to other will replace "is this song about Tom?".

I'd give anything to just not have Fat Mike be a topic of conversation in this thread. His shit over the past few months is reprehensible and thinking about him at all brings me down.

 

At this point id settle for an announcement about an album announcement.

I imagine a rock band anywhere in the top 50 individual songs among all genres is very good lol
