My mom chose to have a double barrel barleywine called Circle of Wolves tonight to celebrate Mother’s Day, and it could not be more perfect for this if we tried. Red and gold label and everything.

I really really want Dany to go Mad Queen so I don't know if I'll be sad if she gets got at this point. Maybe if they spent more time fleshing out her maddnes and letting us feel bad for her for more than a few episodes it would hurt more. But at this point, after what Cersei did to her, I want her to say fuck it and go all in, even though I know that may end up getting her killed.

The only other main non-Cersei character I'm afraid for this episode is Jaime. It seems like his inability to stop caring about Cersei has him destined to die. I will be sad to see that.

I think Tyrion and Varys are in danger with the possible plotting against Dany but def a solid chance she dies before she can do anything to them. Their betrayal may be what gets her killed actually.

 

After last episode it seems like Varys can die at anytime now

 

Yeah I think he was willing to play the slow game with Robert on the throne because he had no choice, but with the possibility there to put someone on the throne he really thinks will be good, he's a lot more assertive.

Problem is, he doesn't have a secret network of spies to help him do anything anymore. So he basically has to convince other people himself that it's the right thing to do. That's how ya play yourself, Varys.

 

They’ve dropped a ton of plot points, but Melisandre telling Varys he has to die does not seem like it’s one of them.

 

Gonna watch this True Detective show since I better get my HBO fill in before the GOT finale. Season 1 obviously

 

What else have you made it through so far?

 

Westworld season 1 and a couple episodes of Big Little Lies

 

I still have no idea what to think of Westworld after Season 2.

I love that we'll still have a show being scored by Djwandi when GOT ends though

 

I loved BLL. Sharp Objects is something else you might have time for. So much of the best stuff is a pretty big time commitment.

 

Anyone have any experience using HBOGo/Now overseas? Trying to figure out if I can use the app over here, basically.

 

If not just use a vpn. You can probably get a free trial with Nord VPN.

Weirdly when I was in Mexico last week it wouldn’t work on Wifi but was fine on my phone using LTE

 

Here for the Sharp Objects and Big Little Lies love. I also recommend High Maintenance. I liked TD season 3 but recognize it had its issues. If anything, its a joy to watch Mahershala Ali act his ass off.

 

I would actually recommend watching all 3 seasons of True Detective as long as you go in knowing that Season 2 is deeply flawed.

 

I’m only liking for the first half of that comment, lol. I’m hard on the “only watch TD season 1 and even that is flawed” train. Especially if you’re on a time crunch.

 

Gotta watch Westworld season 2 it’s so good.

 

True Detective is right up my alley, flaws and all. My take on the seasons is:
