I am most familiar with her from producing and mixing Manchester Orchestra's A Black Mile To The Surface which is one of the best produced records in recent memory for me, right up there with Jimmy Eat World's Integrity Blues.

saw frank last night and it was easily the best i’ve ever seen him, and hes been playing really shorts sets it seems on this tour so far and last night he pulled out all the stops. What a set list.

The song “bar staff” he says was a new song, but its all about thanking your bartenders, and the lyrics are kinda cringe, but the music sounds like franks take on jimmy buffet which was interesting to say the least.

The song is actually on Spotify! He released it in January on the Don’t Worry EP with another b-side from Be More Kind titled How It Began. They’re both meh, mostly because I need to get far away from this album cycle lol.

He continues to be a top tier performer, his crowd interactions and showmanship get better every tour.

Yep. He is a top tier level live musician. He will kill it EVERY show. I’m literally so god damn lucky to be from Boston where he enjoys playing almost more than home lol. I think we got like 7 shows last year and at this current moment 4 this week (with probably a secret bar show to be added).

Definitely trying to hit up Poetry of the Deed on Friday night and then the Saturday show.

I didn’t realize that Be More Kind officially had so many producers from different locations. Considering that, it sounds really good production wise. I listened to it again today and my compliments and complaints about the album still really the same as when it came out (although the live show has enhanced the songs overall). It falls flat near the end, and a few songs are a bit similar at points or a little weird and lose me. But, others are fantastic and have there own identity in his catalogue as well as on the record.

I’m curious to hear what’s next in terms of what he wrote stylistically. I don’t know if his choice of producer is a reflective of his musical direction this time around, or if Marks was just a new person for him to learn from. I’m guessing it’ll have the Sleeping Souls on there, but maybe someone else who follows social media will know more if the guys posted anything.

13 track album? I don't know his past songs by name well enough to confirm what's new

Looks like 12 songs with Silent Key thrown in the mix before he hits Ballad and closes out with the hits. Nice to see Dora Hand on the setlist again. Give me that historical frank album pleeease.

The song titles really read as a common theme to the album, very historical sounding as you say

Someone on Reddit who was at the show says that the album will be titled No Man's Land and that the show was recorded. I'm thinking possibly to put on the deluxe release, a little like how he did the whole album acoustically for PS4NP?

Either way, I'm so excited this project is finally seeing the light of day. I remember seeing him on the Tape Deck Heart tour and he played one of the songs from it then (one about a women discovering CPR or something). Even then the song was great. Hopefully this can be a return to form.

Nice. Definitely sounds like the album he’s been talking about for a few years now. I remember Jimmy Bingham’s Ghost as well.

I wonder if he’s re-recorded Silent Key to go on this. Seems like it would fit thematically.

Yeah didn't he have a concept of a "historical women" album? Silent Key ruled so I could be into it as long as the songs don't lack the total energy I came to love Frank for.

According the Reddit post I mentioned before, the version of Silent Key is an altered/ rerecorded version. Obviously take of that what you will, but it possibly is.

Black Mile producer + fabled historical woman album?
    Colour me very interested.

Hope the songs are there this time!

Seems like a really.......odd.....theme for an album. Not a huge fan of Silent Key.........for those who have heard these songs in the past, how do they sound musically - are they in the FT wheelhouse or are they a sharp left turn ??

As I recall, he mentioned them having some bluegrass influence back in the day. Earlier this year though he referred to the new album as sprawling and experimental (I think those are the words he used). The two I’ve heard (Jinny Bingham’s Ghost and The Death Of Dora Hans) were both acoustic versions, but they sounded more like the former than the latter. I have no idea what to expect at this point.

I would love to have anything that isn't Be More Kind.

He hasn't been holding well in the social media spotlight recently, but I'll still check out a new album.

Although Be More Kind left something to be desired, it still has some good songs and I still listen to those songs along with other good Frank Turner songs.

Any idea when he’s releasing his new album?

Blackout, 1933, Be More Kind, and There She Is are the only tracks I return to. Which is significantly more disappointing when these were all the singles.

I’m thinking August/September release for the new album. He seemed keen on it being a 2019 release.
