I'm not a fan of Green Day, but I love Warning.

 

Yeah whoever brought up Warning a couple of days ago, thank you. Hadn't listened to that record in probably a year, but put it on today. Still fucking rules.

 

I haven't listened to Warning in probably 10 years. I need to fix that today.

 

After a few days with BIOMY, im still stoked on it. I think all three of the boys get to shine on the song. Cool hip hop beats from Travis, classic blink melody in the verse from Mark, and great singing and lyrics from Matt.

I still enjoy California, but if were to compare this song to BTD, i guess BIOMY feels more... interesting? More than anything it has me gotten super excited on what’s more to come! They definitely chose this song as the first single to become a summer hit, let’s hope it succeeds. (For the band’s sake, i’ll still love it regardless.)

 

Travis's drumming is def a highlight. I like skibas verse a lot - lyrics and vocals. I don't think marks verse is as cheesy or bad as people claim.

This is true.

 

Mark's verse reminds me of "Rite of Spring" by AVA and I like that about it. Only cheesy part for me is the "Blame it on my youth part" in the chorus.

And yes, Travis' drums slam.

I acccctually think I might agree with his rankings. At first I was surprised to see Neighborhoods so low but then I thought about it, and yeah, can’t justify having it higher than any of those others. Hoping this new one lands even above California!

 

Dude Ranch is 2nd for me but otherwise my ranking is the same

 

It always changes slightly for me but that’s generally how I feel. My main point though was that I anticipate this record topping Cali. I’m betting they’ve worked out any of the kinks they had last time.

....and on that note, I’m spinning the deluxe edition all day today.

 

i also decided to pop on Cali Deluxe today and holy moley i don't think i have consciously listened to Can't Get You More Pregnant at all since it released. i almost forgot it existed which is a bizarre feeling to get from a modern blink song lol

 

Yeah I think it will top Cali too. Still for it's flaws, it's such a good summer record, it's not like this record will make me forget about it haha. But the weaker songs will probably get a bit more neglected

 

California is great. Can't Get You More Pregnant is not.

Mark started it.

 

Relistendd to Cali & DLX this past week and while there are some low points, the stand out tracks of each could have made a killer record.

Looking back, I wished they had taken time with the DLX songs and put out a new album a year later. With more thought and consideration like they did for this upcoming album. Seems like they were fine just racking on some throw away tracks.

Either way, I’ve really been a spoiled blink fan with the amount of new music we’ve gotten. Even the lower tier songs are still fun to listen to.
