Neighborhoods would've been a really cohesive album if it weren't for every song other than Hearts All Gone.

There's really no need to be that way about it at all. Making fun of trigger warnings is a nice touch, though. Quality post, hope you feel satisfied.

I was mainly joking. I think I've poked at his hatred for Tbs enough for him to know I'm kidding. I like Hapiness Is... A lot though lol

I haven't heard the new album yet - I'll listen to it when it officially comes out. I'm really excited for it. I'm a little surprised that people aren't as into the production as I've always really enjoyed Feldmann's work as a producer. Exactly what isn't working for you, if you feel that way? Have you ever listened to any of the many other records that Feldmann's produced and didn't like those or do you just not like him working with Blink-182? I'm genuinely curious.

Sorry if I'm re-treading on things that have already been stated, but I haven't really read/heard about what people's specific issues are with this record except that it's just "not as good" as they were hoping it for. I get that this the internet and people are typically negative on things that get hyped up (like this record), but I'm just interested to hear other's views.

Inspired by this very thread I went on Spotify and listened to the album along with Mark's song by song commentary. It was really interesting because a few of the songs he flat out says this was Tom's song or vice versa. In case anyone doesn't have Spotify and is curious here's who Mark either says or implies wrote each song on that album.

Also judging solely from this commentary if I had to pick 4 that were "in the same room" songs they would be Up All Night, After Midnight, This is Home, Love is Dangerous. Again this is based off of little 30 second sound bites from Mark so I could be way off.

    • Ghost on the Dance Floor: Tom (recorded 3/4 before M & T got to it)
    • Natives: Travis and Mark are mentioned
    • Up All Night: Doesn't say
    • After Midnight: Tom wrote verses, Mark wrote choruses, Travis formulated the beat first.
    • Snake Charmer: Based around a Tom riff.
    • Hearts All Gone: Mark
    • Wishing Well: "All Tom"
    • Kaleidoscope: He doesn't outright say but sounds like it was mostly Mark's ideas.
    • This is Home: Incomplete Mark song, Tom wrote new verses and all lyrics.
    • MH 4.18.2011: Mark
    • Love is Dangerous: Doesn't explicitly say. Sounds like a group effort.
    • Fighting the Gravity: Doesn't explicitly say. I'd say it sounds more like Marks work but I could be very wrong.
    • Even if she Falls: Doesn't explicitly say.

  9. Blink. Easy. I truly have realized I don't like Taking Back Sunday as a band. I liked their first album, the rest of it I just don't care for at all. There was one anomaly, it just happened to be their first album.

Fair enough. I do remember your review of Louder Now wasn't Too harsh lol. In fact you cracked a joke about that at the beginning of it if I recall haha.

Has anyone discussed how the beginning of Cynical seems like Mark is finally getting his moment where he can discuss his side of things, since Tom dominated everyone when it was announced he got kicked out, then quickly finding their rythmn again with Matt (the pause followed by the "AHH"), then finally ringing out on the "I'M NOT SORRY" all in the old school style of Blink.

Okeey. Genuinely didn't think that little joke would offend anyone.

So when you say don't do something as the owner of this website, am I right in assuming I should take this as a rule and not a suggestion? No smugness intended in this post, I'm honestly curious if I've broken some sort of forum rule here.

I just created a 2.5 hour Blink playlist for a train ride I'm taking this weekend. After doing it I went back to check the composition, and it wasn't very surprising.

    Cheshire - 3 songs
    Dude Ranch - 6 songs
    Enema - 8 songs
    TOYPAJ - 7 songs
    Untitled - 6 songs
    Neighborhoods - 3 songs
    DED - 1 song
California - All (less the joke songs)

I'm very interested to see how many of these new songs will stay on my personal greatest hits playlist a year or two from now

I've always been surprised by the fact that you don't like WYWTB. I'm not sure why, I just am haha.

I like WYWTB. It places 3rd for me (Louder now and TAYF 1/2). Followed by happiness is then self titled and new again.

Basically don't ever listen to Neighborhoods anymore, it's almost always Enema and now this. Even though I think TOYPAJ is their best I revisit it less. weird
