It was funny my initial thought process was “I don’t know if they had it planned, so I’m not sure if I should be congratulating him or just blink awkwardly and then ask if they had it planned”

My mom married my dad because she got pregnant with me and my grandfather (her dad) (who cheated on my grandma ((who is an absolute saint and legend)) with the neighbor when she was working and raising 5 kids) told her it was the right thing to do and probably all sorts of weird Catholic guilt BULLSHIT (even though my grandma and her sisters said they would help her take care of the baby) so she married my dad and ~18 years later we lost everything because he was a raging drug addict and alcoholic who spent all our money.


Many lessons in this story but basically don't get married for the baby folks.

 

My mom always told me if she had me first, she wouldn’t have had a second child. So I always tell my sister she should thank me for being born after her

 

My friend did this with his on-and-off again girlfriend. She's 40 now and he's 32. The kid is 3. I was the godfather (lol) but as their relationship soured (within months of the baby being born) I haven't been able to see the kid in over 2 years. She's doing alright, but he's dating someone who is almost 50 now and I'm not sure should legally be alive.
