On first listen, it's an interesting direction, I want to hear what the whole record is like and how this fits into it.
Lucky where I live the weather is pretty much summer all year so I can jam this even though it's the end of "autumn"

 

Love that they basically mimicked what would classically of been a guitar riff to open the song, electronically.

 

Kinda gives me NFG ‘coming home’ era meets 2019 trend vibes.

It’s alright! I’m hoping there’s songs on the full album I’m more into, but this is pretty catchy.

I also gave AVA's new song a chance. I love basically every Angels and Airwaves song until Tom sings lol. Sonically, he writes some catchy shit that hits me and then his voice/lyrics just take me right out of it again.

Definitely! If they wanted to, they could replace that distorted "blame it on my youth" with some octave chords and then have the guitar lead. Kinda like that they didn't do that.

This fits enough that if we all do it at shows it may just work.

At least from that 30 second clip, that verse guitar is sooo definitively blink to me. Probably more so than anything I've heard from them in a while.
