What the fuck was that. Almost the entire episode in winterfell felt like a parody soap opera. The writing was so incredibly cheesy it didn't even feel like I was watching Game of Thrones. I thought it was bad enough almost nobody died last episode....but this? Is this fan fiction?

 

Teleporting is overpowered

 

That scene was a great reminder of that, too. Fascinating character portrayals for years.

 

Another great episode. These final two are going to be insane.

 

This writing is so frustrating.

 

And seriously what on earth were they thinking with that entrance. That plan was worse than sending in the Dothraki last week. We all said Euron’s abilities were going to be made superhuman despite him not being a compelling threat and now he’s practically a magician.

Everything is definitely going to go terribly for a lot of people now.

That episode was much better than I expected it to be.

 

King Varys imo

 

That opening bit by Kit Harrington was some of the best acting I’ve seen from him. He’s never had such commanding presence over his character than he did during that speech.

Rhaegal getting speared the way he did was more upsetting to me than Missandei’s beheading...which reminded me of that one from the walking dead a little bit. I do however love the somewhat post-apocalyptic setting that scene was staged.

I also liked how you could see Dany gradually lose her sense of calm throughout that episode.

Mini-tracking shot we got with Tyrion on the boat was well done.

Sansa’s arguing “but but Arya’s the one that killed the night king” was inadvertently funny.

Those was seriously Missandei’s last word?

 

And the fact that he could see them perfectly clearly but she just didn’t notice them or something.

So many odd choices of what to show and what not to show too. But at least it was actually visible this time. Lol.

 

The killing of Rhaegal is fucking dumb. Arrows kill dragons so easily? Well, I guess dragons aren’t as big of a threat as we’re led to believe? So dumb. The show never really flexed their power and just takes them away so easily.

It really diminishes what they are going for. To piss off Dany, and make her snap. Well, put giant arrows on every corner and Dany’s done.... Cool.

 

I thought we might finally get an episode without a eunuch joke for poor Varys too, but alas.

 

It’s not a normal arrow, those ballistas were specifically engineered to be able to kill the dragons.

Arya said brother so many times in that talk with Jon. Not sure why they didn’t just send her with her bag of faces to get Cersei anyway. They have a few too many OP characters running around and they haven’t figured out how to deal with that.

Bran continues to be befuddling. Jon asking him of all “people” to give the news is pretty hysterical. Not sure what they could possibly be planning for him, if anything.
