The fill in bassist last night was Lou Hanman who has played in Caves, RVIVR, Worriers and now Thin Lips. Just in case anyone was wondering who that was.

Played a 10 song set last night, but I think maybe they had planned more. After Georgia did her solo part, when Kelly and Thomo came back out, Kelly signaled to Georgia only two more songs (this was her first show back after being sick). Setlist was a bit different from the Chicago one on setlist.fm. Tracks 4-7 might be out of order, but the rest is straight. Elise from Oceanator played guitar on The Opener and Georgia just ran free across stage with the mic.

This is the Chicago setlist plus UFO Lighter and Done, two I really wanted to see but oh well

Actually in Chicago they played Stove Lighter too, so I don’t know what’s going on at all. Glad Kelly is better.

 

I love this band so much, but I'm actually really glad I decided to skip this tour. I saw them in 2017 and 2018, and both sets were pretty much identical......8 or 9 songs and off the stage within 40 minutes. Still had an amazing time at both shows as I love them so much, but I'm hoping by the next tour they have a tighter show put together.

 

This band is good.

 

The first time I saw them they played every song off the first album the 7 inch and the opener before it was released, one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen, same with the second time. I still felt that at times with this show, giving them the benefit of the doubt with the awful situation Kelly being sick has them in.

I can’t stress enough how good the new acoustic song was tho.

 

Was there any talk about a new album or them being back in the studio?

 

New song in Charlotte. It was Georgia by herself on electric, so unsure if was the same as the other show.

Set was great. Thankful for them to appear.

 

Didn’t know this before, but per Kelly’s Instagram the “Show Em, Kelly” line is a response to the Smith Street drummer telling her she should move to 2nd guitar and the band get a another bassist to fill out the missing part in their sound or something.

That band continues to dig its grave.

 

Camp Cope on Supporting Other Women in Music and Calling Out Festival Lineups

 

This band is one of the only ones in the scene actually practicing what they preach. They bring women and queer people on tour with them and at my show in Brooklyn last week had a member of the Lenape tribe welcome us to the show, because when they play in Australia they honor the indigenous people of the land that they play on there. They use their platform on stage as well to call out men to do better and actively work on making the places that they occupy safer for women, and encourage them to talk to the men in their life to do the same. They talk about the hard stuff, have the difficult conversations. And their tour manager has made himself available to anyone to talk to him if they feel uncomfortable or something happens to them while at their show. They're fucking rad.

Yeah mine was a Sunday-Monday thing for those two shows a couple weeks ago

 

Mine was a Friday-Saturday but i'm a fool and didn't go to either.

Might hit up the 2nd Chi show though this month.
