A few tracks in and I'm already liking this way more than I thought. I remember it not sticking with me when it came out and there not being any tracks that stood out.

Dean's bass sounds awesome in this album.

 

Don't think I've ever listened to this one in full so first time hearing a lot of these

Ok so on a few listen throughs, I actually like this album quite a bit. Glad I revisited it! I'd still rank it close to last on their overall album rankings.

-Clones (this is kinda hard. Clones has some sweet riffs though.

It's time to move onto round two! I'm a little surprised to see the big single go down early! Also, Pinata is one of my favorite songs on the album, so I'm bummed to see it not get a single vote.

-Envy (I like how different this track sounds from most of their others. Being a nice slow jam until the build up at the end is nice. Again, props to Dean for the bass parts in Ruse again, he killed it on this album)

-The Meddler (still the best)

 

Dang, I missed round one. I think this album has a little bit of filler but is much better overall than Sci-Fi Crimes, although Sleep Apnea is still better than any song on this album.

Same Old Trip - Clones has a good chorus but it's the same chord structure over and over. I mentioned before that Chevelle rarely does anything faster than a mid-tempo song, but the verses during this song are one of the few exceptions.
Hats Off To The Bull - solid chorus, solid riffs. The bridge is great too. Prima Donna is just a standard mediocre acoustic Chevelle song.
Ruse - first tough choice. Envy is good, similar to Panic Prone off of This Type of Thinking. But I think Ruse is more consistent over all.
The Meddler - ugh this one was tough too. I've always really liked Revenge, especially the ending. But after going through this album again, I think I like The Meddler more. That bridge really is great and the chorus is massive.

good to have some tough choices again!
