The aftermath trilogy is bad if that's what you are asking. The guy is not a great author. If you want to consume all of the Star wars you can, read them. But I wouldn't recommend them, personally.

 

I couldn’t get into the first and stopped trying. Didn’t like how they’re written. Just read the synopsis online instead. Heh. Saved time.

Currently reading and enjoying Thrawn though.

 

The first one introduces you to the cast of characters but the story is meh minus the interludes. It’s not 100% necessary but worth it just to make the next two better and the characters are all really interesting. The second book is the best of the trilogy and among the best books in new canon. The third is good but the first half of the book is all lead up to the Battle of Jakku and can feel like filler before the final battle, but once the battle begins it’s really good.

 

Gotcha. Thanks for the feedback everybody. Yeah I’ll prioritize other stuff right now then Ill probably just do the synopsis of the first book then read the other two before The Mandalorian since the aftermath of the Empire is apart of that storyline as well

All of those are significantly better than anything in aftermath and that's just off the top of my jead

 

I’ve heard good things about Aftermath just also that the first one is one of the worst. I’m really really curious about Rae Sloane (who Ken Napzok adores) and supposedly this is where the whole Unknown regions concept started?

 

I’d put the 3 Claudia Gray books (hopefully 4 after Master & Apprentice) and Ahsoka above it. I think Life Debt (2nd Aftermath) is on the same level as Catalyst and Rebel Rising. The story itself is great and I had less issues with the writing in this one, but I totally understand how it can fall lower on other people’s lists.

 

Has their been any confirmation of if all of The Mandalorian is coming out on launch or will it be week to week?

So instead of Master and Apprentice decided to read Son of Dathomir first since the story won’t be part of Clone Wars last season. Man these four issues would’ve been a hell of an arc for Clone Wars. It’s a shame. Night Brothers vs. Dooku. Maul and Dooku vs. Obi-Wan, Mace, Tiplee, and Secura. Then mother Talzin and Maul vs Sidious and Grievous. A lot of battles that would’ve been great animated.

I have tons more but don't want to flood the thread. I also went to an emo vs. pop punk night and hung out with Mollie and Alex from Star Wars Explained. Celebration is truly the best.

 

I desperately want to put together a Kylo cosplay for SDCC or Celebration next year. I wish I could afford one of the Anovos costumes. Guess I should learn to sew!
